Appalling service!!

Appalling service!!! My husband bought a Red Letter Spa Day package from the TG Jones at Brent Cross London. It needed to be activated at the till but he didn't know this and it wasn't done. Since then I have been back to the store, no manager around to help, called them, still no manager around. Emailed the head office, they responded on the second attempt. Since then, they have requested lots of additional information, including my original email which detailed everything explicitly, (I've actually sent it three times), in a different format!
Is this incompetence or a stalling, underhand, tactic?

This would be zero stars if it was possible!!!
Same woman who regularly works in the coney street York branch was so rude I honestly felt for her safety!
I feel she needs to move on to pastures new and find a job where she is in a dark room with no windows so nobody else has to put up with her sheer vile arrogant obnoxious behaviour!
This couldn’t be stressed enough how dissatisfied I was with the post office staff customer service skills! Utterly shocked.
I felt embarrassed for her!

Failed IT = No DHL

Tried twice last week to use their DHL service, only to be told on both occasions that "the system is down". It really is a sad imitation of it's former self (even down to staff still wearing WHSmith shirts - probably a form of mourning).

Superb Customer Service

Fantastic customer service 👌 No issues with my order 👍 after I ordered some books and I have searched for the reviews about this company I was worried about getting the order, therefore I have contacted them and (even) asked them to package the items separately and they did. Plus, the order came super quickly and I am amazed with their customer service! Superb product quality and amazing people 💥💥💥💥💥💎💎💎💎💎🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🙏 Highly recommended

Cheltenham main post office run by this…

Cheltenham main post office run by this company has to be most poorly managed post office in the country. In a nutshell, we constantly face long queues, staff shortages, lack of customer service and dirty facilities. Someone needs to sort this out. This is our town’s main post office and it often has only one or two members of staff on duty resulting in us regularly queuing for very long periods. Disgraceful. Cheltenham deserves better!

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless! Had a book on order for several weeks; after assurances from them that it would soon be delivered, it never arrived. Finally I gave up and ordered the book from Amazon, who delivered it the NEXT DAY! T G Jones are about as genuine as their 'made up' name.

Shop elsewhere

Purchased a 2026 diary for £14. I am a long term chronically ill 61 year old with multiple mental & physical health conditions (including traumatic brain injury / skull cancer surgery / PTSD / respiratory / spinal) who's lived 32+ years in Elswick Newcastle, one of the countries most multiply deprived neighborhoods. Purpose was to record my debilitating daily symptoms to continually advise all the diverse health professionals involved in my care. Have previously purchased these c.5 years from discount stores at about 25% of the cost but felt this year is going to be good for me so wanted something brighter and better quality to give me a January boost.

Started filling it in Tuesday and discovered one of the days each week has less lineage to write in than the other 6, clearly an issue with printers laying out / designing the page format / quality control inspection and approval ?? Maybe not the worst complaint in the world but imagine buying a set of crockery / cutlery where one place setting was 14.3% smaller than the rest ??

Contacted customer service who responded that it's not their problem as they only supply these from WH Smith (looking into the involvement of Modella Capital at present in the buy out of WH Smith retail) and they only sell them. No offer of any other line of complaint or people to contact for further complaints).

No the wonder our High Streets are in decline. Vulture retail at its worst probably driven from a multi billion investor who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.

I purchased 2 X 100 pounds gift cards from tgjones that used to be w h smith till tgjones bought them out....one card redeemed 100 pounds.....the other card would not redeem anything at all....message for 6 tryes said invalid code..then next message says redeemed...under the consumers act,I was told to go to where I purchased the cards...so I went to t g Jones and they did not want to know..they said it was not there problem and to contact apple, which I had already done as apple says tgjones might not have activated them when I purchased the....the manageress in the store became very nasty and aggressive when I was trying to explain to her what apple had told me to do...she said DONT COME IN THIS SHOP AGAIN TO BUY ANYTHING,,,SO I LOST 100 POUNDS......NOW THE OTHER THING IS ,I HAVE TRYED TO CONTACT GTJONES HELP LINE TO COMPLAIN BUT THERES NO CONTACT PHONE NUMBER AT ALL ,AND CARNT GET TO SEND A EMAIL TO THEM BECAUSE WHEN I PUT THERE EMAIL ADDRESS IN IT THEN TAKES ME STRAIGHT TO PAYPAL....VERY STRANGE FOR A COMPANY TO DO THAT.......I WAS COMPLYING TO WHAT W.H.SMITH HAD TOLD ME TO DO..T.G JONES IS A COMPLEAT WAITES OF TIME AND SPACE...WONT BE LONG BEFORE THE SELL OUT WITH STAFF AND HELP LIKE THAT......SO I SAY AGAIN AS I WARN EVERY ONE..DONT TOUCH T G JONES IF YOU DONT WANT THEM TO RIP YOU OFF. I placed my order for 3 Tonie…

I placed my order for 3 Tonie characters on the 9/12/25 for my grandsons Christmas which were In stock and expected delivery to my chosen store in 2 -4 days only to find on Christmas eve I had not has an email confirming they had arrived, I contacted the store who confirmed they didn't have a parcel for me. Thankfully they had them in stock but it meant a 50 mile round trip on Christmas eve to get them and also cost more than my original order as no longer on offer. Yes after emailing them I was refunded but the customer service regarding the redundancy minimal, not even caring that the order hadn't been fulfilled or that I had the stress of trying to get the Tonies on Christmas eve. I really wouldn't recommend this company, never ever had an issue with WHSMITH in the pas.

Advertising stock that is not even with them!
Upon placing my order it showed delivery from 2 to 4 working days, a week on and absolutely no update.
I emailed the company only to find out the item is not in stock and soonest they can send it, it's 2-3 weeks time.
None of this was listed on their website when ordering, nor communicated to me post order.
I would be waiting for the Christmas gift until second week of new year if I had not emailed.
Left me with no time to source a replacement either.
I don't think with this shambolic service you'll be around much longer.

What's the point of a pre-order if they don't get the stock to fulfil them?

I pre-ordered a limited edition item from them that was meant to be released on the 12th of December. I heard nothing by the 18th so I contacted them and was told they were out of stock and I was given a refund.

Great on the fast refund, but this doesn't help with getting a limited edition item for a Christmas present. What's the point in taking pre-orders if you don't honour them?

Appalling customer service. I ordered a limited edition Album as a gift for a very excited 13 year old, which never arrived. When I chased it up I was informed there were only limited copies and I wouldn't be receiving it after all. No consideration or communication to let me know. I will never purchase anything from them again.

Poor

Placed a click and collect order online a week ago. Received initial order confirmation and expected to be able to pick up from my local high street store in a couple of days (as promised).
No further Comms from tg jones. A week after the order I called into the store and the order was there. So picked it up. No further emails to say it had been collected.
I had expected to wrap and gift this last weekend when visiting the intended recipient, but missed that chance. So poor customer service all round.
Won't be using you again.
