| A curious being of animated stone, Tiny roams the world in search of his origins. Seemingly mild-mannered, the Stone Giant is nonetheless a force to behold as he brings down a multitude of Avalanches. He Tosses friends and foes alike across the battlefield, landing them on top of enemies and into the fray. Growing to tremendous size and strength as the battle progresses, Tiny's power can quickly become terrifying. Some have even claimed to witness the Stone Giant Wielding a Massive Tree, bludgeoning and Volleying Trees at a fortress until only rubble remained. | |

Bio
[edit]My enemies break upon me like surf upon the stone.▶️Tiny, the Stone Giant
Alias:
Stone Giant
Lore:
Coming to life as a chunk of stone, Tiny's origins are a mystery on which he continually speculates. He is a Stone Giant now, but what did he used to be? A splinter broken from a Golem's heel? A shard swept from a gargoyle-sculptor's workshop? A fragment of the Oracular Visage of Garthos? A deep curiosity drives him, and he travels the world tirelessly seeking his origins, his parentage, his people. As he roams, he gathers weight and size; the forces that weather lesser rocks, instead cause Tiny to grow and ever grow.

[edit]Trivia
[edit]- Tiny's quote "▶️ Tiny Smash!" is a reference to Hulk, a well-known superhero from the Marvel Universe.
- Tree Grab is still called "Craggy Exterior" after his old passive ability in the game files.
- Tree Throw's slow debuff does not have its own particle system and uses the particle effects of Thunder Clap's slow debuff instead.
- Prior the 7.38 gameplay patch, Avalanche and Toss had a special interaction, commonly known as the Avatoss combo.
- This combo made Avalanche's damage instances deal 2x damage to units that are airborne through Toss.
- This interaction originated as a bug in DotA on Warcraft III caused by the interaction between Avalanche's base ability, Cluster Rockets, and the way Toss was coded.
- Cluster Rockets has a damage cap for each unit affects, which makes it stop damaging units that reached the cap.
- For Avalanche, the damage cap was reached within 0.75 seconds, but the ability itself lasted 2 seconds.
- Due to engine limitations of Warcraft III, any upward movement requires the affected unit to be turned into a flying unit to work.
- Therefore, Toss required this as well, turning the target into a flying unit in order to be able to move it upwards.
- For unknown reasons, switching a unit's movement type to flying caused Cluster Rockets' damage counter to fully reset.
- Originally, Toss changed the target to flying type on each tick, causing it to reset Avalanche over its entire duration.
- Due to this hardcoded bug, Toss would continuously reset Avalanche's damage cap over the entire Toss duration.
- Considering Toss's 1 second duration, this would result in Avalanche dealing up to 2.25 times its damage.
- In 6.58, this bug was addressed and turned into a feature that required proper timing from the player.
- In this patch, Toss was changed to only turn the target into a flying unit once upon cast, instead of contiuously.
- This means, in order to get the full 2x bonus, Toss had to be cast after the damage cap was reached, which was 0.75 seconds.
- In Dota 2, this was simplified; Avalanche's damage to tossed units was directly multiplied instead, rather than using a damage cap.
- Warcraft 3 similarities:
- Tiny's hero concept is originally based on the Mountain Giants, a large Night Elf unit.
- Avalanche's core ability was based on the Tinker's Cluster Rockets, a channeled area ability that deals damage and mini-stuns.
