Missing (faulty) aqua bivvy…
After purchasing a (faulty) aqua bivvy last year, Angling Direct sent it back to the manufacturers last November to be repaired, it's taken 3 month 1 week to resolve and i had to fight to settle for a refund because my bivvy seemed to have gone missing through this process? After many, many emails and calls to the support team chasing and chasing up to where my bivvy was? Not one explanation as to where it went? I can no longer purchase the same bivvy elsewhere now?. So,
Eventually, i had to settle for a refund because the bivvy was discontinued in the long time frame trying to retrieve it from them. So, now i have a skull cap to a bivvy I can no longer get hold of that cost extra to the bivvy?
I was also, charged a fee for the refund? Absolute joke!
This has put me off using AD ever, again.
After all the years I've used this company, this has been the worst experience i have ever encountered through no fought of my own.

Order a rod and reel combo with some lures ect. The rod was discounted so a great deal! Unfortunately the rod was out of stock once ordered but I now have all the other items I bought for it, when I complained no alternative was offered. Now I have to drive to send the items back or post them at my expense. Just received a poor and scripted email. Never do business with them and support your local angling shop instead!!
Angling Direct is illegally withholding £763 – shocking service!
Angling Direct has blocked a gift card with a confirmed balance of £763.02, valid until September 2026, refusing me access.
They claim I can’t use it because I wasn’t the original purchaser — despite merging and verifying the balance themselves.
This is unacceptable and likely a breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
I have repeatedly contacted support, escalated to Head Office, and issued a formal 48-hour legal notice.
I will be taking this further through Trading Standards, ADR, and legal channels if this is not resolved immediately.

Ordered a advanta power carp 13m pole plus other items over £350 cost plus before unpacking the pole got the 3 top kits elasticated cost including elastic £40 once i unpacked the pole i discovered that that 2 sections had been packed incorrectly and actually forced together plus 2 ends had been damaged the packaging inside of the pole bag was none existent and then i noticed that the outer box looked like it had been opened beforehand and re taped up to be fair angling direct do state 5 working days before a reply on my initial email but the whole process has been very disappointing especially when my wife bought this for my birthday.
Ive spent a considerable amount of money with angling direct over a short period of time since returning to fishing and feeling very disapointed and cannot be bothered to wait for a response from the returns department so will be sending the pole back for a refund as its totally blunted any enthusiasm i had on this product and to make matters worse now got to shell out to return the item and no doubt have to wait for my money so basically £300 pound plus out of pocket and no pole

I had to get onto them all weekend until I came across an adviser named Sheila who looked at everything, got the answers needed and my items were here the next morning. Ordered a pair of boots on Sunday
Ordered a pair of boots on Sunday, it took a couple of days for them to be dispatched but that worked in my favour as I changed my mind and emailed to ask if I could step-up a size. In the meantime I read some reviews and wondered if I'd end up regretting my purchase but the boots were here by Thursday. Again, I wasn't sure on the size initially but I'm happy, they work for me. James and Jason communicated well despite my indecision and dealt with my enquiries promptly. No complaints at all, cheers.
Angling direct use DX courier service
Angling direct use DX courier service, they are a complete bunch of cowboys, I purchased a £721 item, when it was delivered it was damaged, I contacted AD, and they arranged collection the very next day, the damage was not from the courier, it was from AD’s packaging warehouse, DX collected the item the very next day.
Then I got a message to say DX would be delivering again next day, I thought my god that’s a fantastic turnaround, but DX just delivered the return package back to me, what a shambles this is, Its 4 days and still no replacement item, this will be last AD purchase.
Faulty items you will pay for
Want fast service not a problem its when there's a problem thats when you see their true colours come out .it took me over a month to get a refund on a faulty item they sent out to me only to be charged to return thier faulty item so don't waste your money buy at your local tackle shop

Please beware when dealing with Angling Direct
I ordered a Matrix XTR500 pole, cost £1600 and decided to use interest free credit. My application was approved, I paid my deposit and waited for my order to be delivered. It has never arrived, AD Customer Support ignore all my messages and I have no clue as to whether I will ever receive my order. No criticism of Novuna Finance, they have been no problem but I am beginning to wonder if I have been scammed by Angling Direct. I'm now going to explore my options - I will probably have to cancel the whole thing. I know I have a 14 day cooling off period under UK consumer law but it all leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. So the moral of this tale is there for everyone to see: Angling Direct are not to be trusted. Avoid!

Had an issue with a missing item I ordered, called up and spoke to James today and with a polite and friendly attitude he looked into it for me and had the problem resolved quickly and professionally within minutes, the wait time for calls to be answered can be lengthy but the guys you speak to on the other end are there to help you. Had a problem with handles missing from order which was a Christmas gift - initially felt like I was being given the runaround however spoke with Jason today who has resolved my problem of the missing handles he was polite and very helpful just wish I had spoke. To him earlier in this process - thank you Jason will wait for the handles to be delivered - one point while I appreciate how busy staff are it does take at least 30 minutes to get through to customer services which to be fair is quite a long time in total 🟰 t took me 40 mins this morning to have this issue resolved thanks to Jason
