Ring taking money without consent
Had ring doorbell for several years but they put there prices up to £49.99 a year so I cancelled by having a new debit card they could not take money from my bank,I did try to cancel Ring on line but no luck ( very difficult) so they have taken money from my account even though I have a different number debit card I want to know how they have they can do that surely that’s illegal, so Barclays have taken up my case, had a letter from Barclays this morning saying that Ring are contesting the claim to get my money back £49.99 so please all be careful as this company are not nice at all.

I ordered an internal ring camera- I needed an extension lead ordered one that wouldn’t fit the camera and tried to return but the self service portal wouldn’t accept the order number - in order the other option of the cable and that doesn’t fit either so I tried to return both - this time I tried chat. And then timing and in both cases not helpful . I am returning the camera through the self service portal system but now have two leads that are no use to me and I have spent £40.88 including p&p and catheter for refund .
Ring doorbells are absolutely useless…
Ring doorbells are absolutely useless without a subscription!!
Pointless Upgrade!
So I upgraded in the UK doubling the subscription from 6.99 to 1£5.99 because of the so called multiview functionary. Guess what! Doesn't get supported on my Android Device! Completely missold as that seemed to be the only obvious advantage over what I had before. Additionally the AI does not allow you to ignore things like my dog as it supposedly does in other international markets. Seriously considering a different brand. Ring get your act together on promises Vs reality. I don't need an app to tell me my dog walked around the garden!
Extremely disappointing customer service and unacceptable handling of security equipment
I am extremely disappointed with Ring’s customer service.
I had black Elite PoE outdoor cameras, and two of them became faulty after only a few months of use. Ring ran through their full troubleshooting checklist and confirmed that the issue was with the cameras themselves. Despite one of the cameras still partially working (it was showing an image, although the colours were completely inaccurate), I was asked to return both cameras first, which immediately jeopardised the security of my home, before any replacements would be sent.
After returning both cameras, I received only one camera, and it was completely the wrong model — a white outdoor battery-powered camera, which is useless to me as I specifically require PoE cameras. I contacted Ring immediately. They apologised and assured me that two correct replacements would be sent.
The next day, I received yet another single camera, again incorrect — this time a black outdoor plug-in camera. Once again, completely unusable.
When I contacted Ring for the third time, I was told that they cannot send the correct cameras until I return the two incorrect ones they sent by mistake. This means I now have to take time off work, travel to the post office again, and spend my own time fixing Ring’s errors. I simply don’t have the capacity to do this for at least another 10–15 days — during which time my home security remains compromised.
What makes this even worse is that:
• The mistakes were entirely Ring’s, not mine
• The cameras they sent are of no use to me at all
• Ring is refusing to send replacements until they receive the incorrect items back
• I am expected to repeatedly compensate with my own time and money
This approach shows a complete lack of trust in customers and a shocking disregard for the fact that this is security equipment, not a casual consumer item. Asking customers to remove security devices and wait weeks without protection is unacceptable.
This is genuinely the worst customer service experience I have had. I expected far better from a company operating in home security.
I would strongly advise anyone considering Ring to think carefully before relying on them to protect their home.
Customer service was ok
Customer service was ok, but they don't seem to know whats going on. Spent 1hr on the phone about a spot light camera, verbally telling them it's the spotogjt camera, only for them to say they don't have any doorbell cameras in stock to send a replacement
The same issue with the spot light camera a
Has happened again, the usb plug on the back isn't waterproofed in anyway, so as soon as it rains, it stops charging. They send out another, after water 2 months and the same has happend again
Falsely advertising
Paying for ring plan which is meant to cover all devices at home. One has developed fault and ring are refusing to replace it. Impossible to raise a complaint as they will tell you a manager will call back. They never do. Refused to provide copy of transcript. Now trying to obtain refund through credit card. What has gone wrong with Ring
Poor Customer Service and Worsening Product Performance
Writing a review after far eastern (Indian named) chat representative of ring.com rudely cut my online session yesterday, 06 Feb. I got in contact to explain why I was not renewing my subscription - degrading cloud performance over time, seriously delayed video alerts (up to 10 minutes or more per event) and glitchy video performance. My Gen 2 doorbell is installed on a 900Mbps fibre internet connection with less than 4m wifi distance to the router too and no interference from neighbour wifi or services. The subscription price is too high for a service that clearly suffers from cloud capacity and network bottlenecking issues, with nothing seemingly being done about that. I wanted to ask the chat agent if Ring will be looking at product performance in the future, so I had an "informed view" for subscription renewal. No chance to do that, due to poor customer support over chat, on top of the technical service degradation. Now looking at alternative products. Thanks for being so unhelpful ring.com..

Actual camera works ok…it’s the recharging of the battery that’s an absolute pain!
You have to unscrew the camera, then take a small screw out of the base, then unclip the battery & take the battery out & then finally you plug it in to recharge. I have another outside camera works which really well, as good if not better than the ring one. You take the unit off, plug the charger in and it charges. Simples!
Aiding ICE
Have made an agreement with Flock, who will aid ICE in their illegal actitivities.
Absolutely disgusting company behaviour.
Awful
Awful, more offline than on, even after moving router, buying extender etc..I give up, absolutely useless, works when it feels like it.
Shamefully bad customer service
Shamefully bad customer service
I have been a loyal customer for over 8 years, and the way I have been treated recently is completely unacceptable.
Customer service has declined badly. Support agents are often unhelpful, difficult to understand, and seem more focused on closing tickets than actually resolving problems. Simple issues are repeatedly misunderstood, and there is no escalation, no ownership, and no goodwill gesture offered even after poor service.
What makes this worse is that there appears to be no proper complaints department. As a long-standing customer with significant investment, that is extremely disappointing.
Unfortunately, I am heavily tied into the system — I own around 20 cameras — so leaving immediately isn’t easy. However, once I am able to sell the equipment as a package, I will seriously consider leaving altogether.
Since being taken over by Amazon, Ring feels like a company that has lost touch with its customers. Profits appear to come first, while customer experience comes last.
At the very least, customers in the UK should have access to clear, competent English-speaking support and a fair complaints process. Right now, the service feels disorganised and dismissive.
Overall, this has been a deeply frustrating experience. I hope Ring takes customer service seriously again — because at the moment, it is nowhere near the standard it once was
Not worth the money considering what else is now available...
I cancelled my Ring video recording subscription due to spiralling prices. A few weeks later the Ring camera doorbell stopped working..... I tried all the tips on the help/app but nothing worked. Now logged into my account, on the Help chat, sharing one chatter with (I guess) about twenty other complainants, waiting a long time between responses from the chatter. I have now been offered a 30% discount as warranty has expired. Bought a Tapo for £33.00, takes a micro SD card for recording, no subscriptions. Sorted.
One of the worst experiences I've had…
One of the worst experiences I've had the displeasure of using. Piece of crap with generic setup help that isn't even related to specific models. Constantly saying press the orange button to reset. There is no orange button on my model!!!!!!!!! Only fixed by myself after 3 hours of doing absolutely anything till it worked. Absolutely useless customer service, products and guides. Constantly stops working. Never buying ring again
Had them for a few years with no issues…
Had them for a few years with no issues except the videos jump with cars people disappear, now I have several and due to their system have NOT been able to PURCHASE from their Platform keeps rejecting my cards, this makes their system USELESS so be AWARE before you purchase as things do not work unless paid which I can Not.
Getting to the stage where I wished I have NEVER bought them, I bit of a CON to say the Least.
Awful
Awful. Worst security device we bought. It doesn’t connect to newer broadband hubs because it doesn’t have the capacity to deal with it so is forever disconnecting unless you disable your smart WiFi feature, then to reconnect you have to press the reset button which is on the back of the doorbell! So you have to unscrew it off the wall whenever you change internet provider or whenever it disconnects!, it also doesn’t record everything despite me paying the monthly subscription! If something comes within motion detector then a few minutes after that something else comes in it won’t record the second thing as it’s too slow to start back up again after the first! When I contacted customer services about this they tried to blame it on the motion area I had selected but it isn’t at all as I’ve changed it numerous times and it still misses recording things! Absolute rubbish!
Returned the first faulty doorbell and second one is same...
Returned the first faulty doorbell because it didn't charge properly, and they sent me another one, which charged up twice, and now refuses to charge the third time...AGAIN! These devices are the absolute pits... they are pure JUNK, and then they have the audacity to try to FORCE users to pay them a monthly fee to access services and features that should be FREE! They could so easily make the units compatible with other devices upon which one could store the footage, much as most of the competition do, but they effectively strong arm you into paying them for what amounts to nothing that you actually need. As a seasoned professional app developer, I can safely declare that the Ring app is the biggest pile of junk development too, obviously it has been developed by the same level of rank amateurs as those who designed and assembled the actual doorbell. I am fed up to the back teeth with Ring, so I am off to buy an Reolink, Eufy, or any other device...
Devices OK for me. Customer service terrible
I haven't had any major issues with the devices themselves after using for about 3 years now.
Biggest issue for me is customer service. I ordered a new doorbell as the one I had disconnected and seeming stopped working. I ordered a new doorbell to replace it, then in between ordering and receiving the new one, the old one started working again.
Returning items is certainly not user friendly or efficient. Took me over an hour of online chatting to an agent to arrange the return, with them asking for the MAC address of the device and to take pictures of it and upload. I literally hadn't even unboxed it, but now had to so I could satisfy the return requirements. Shockingly bad for a big company. I would never order direct again.
Time to ditch Ring Product
I’ve used Ring products for a long time, but the move to an integrated battery design is a dealbreaker.
In previous versions, the removable battery pack was a brilliant feature. You could keep a spare on the charger, swap it out in ten seconds, and your home security never skipped a beat. Now, because the battery is built into the camera head, you have to dismantle the entire unit just to charge it. This means:
Security Gaps: Your front door is unmonitored for hours while the unit sits on a kitchen counter charging.
Inconvenience: No more quick swaps. You’re stuck waiting on a wall plug.
Poor Lifespan: To make matters worse, the battery life on this new integrated model is significantly shorter than the old swappable ones. I find myself taking it down to charge way more often than I ever had to before.
Ring has taken a functional, "always-on" security product and turned it into a high-maintenance hassle. If you value continuous uptime and convenience, look elsewhere. I am officially looking for a replacement brand that actually understands user needs.
