Never Buy Any Sharp Appliances and Best of Luck if You Need to Use the Manufacturers Warranty!
Our 12 month old Sharp washing machine broke down 5 weeks ago with 12 months left of its warranty. Pacifica, the company who manage the warranty for Sharp, have now visited the washer 3 times and failed to repair it. We now need another visit in a weeks time to replace yet another part.
I have contacted Pacifica several times now and been told that as long as the engineers orders another part, they will not replace the washing machine - its the T&C's with Sharp.
I have been offered £50 compensation - this is the maximum we can offer you - its the T&C's with Sharp.
I have also had it made very clear that if by some miracle the washing machine is replaced you will not get the £50 - T&C's with Sharp.
OK - let me discuss this with Sharp - impossible say Pacifica - they don't have agents in the UK.
So we are now in a seemingly endless loop of Pacifica failing to repair our washer and acting as the gatekeeper for Sharp to make sure you cant speak to them directly to rectify the problem.
We only replaced our old Bosch washer to be to be more environmentally friendly - In future I would buy a second hand Bosch rather than the junk that is being supplied by Sharp who hide behind their gatekeepers at Pacifica.
Avoid Sharp products at all costs - this is a 0 star review!!!
Disgusting company of lies and false…
Disgusting company of lies and false advertising.
Brought top end fridge freezer that stopped working.
Engineer turned up 2 weeks later and hour after leaving broke again.
Now three weeks on after being promised refund engineer turned up trying to repair again and company now saying will repair but not refund so going to throw it out and buy from honest company.

Sharp's structured impediments for consumers registering product purchase complaints
So far of recent multiple emailed attempts to prompt Sharp Consumer Electronics to respond appropriately and satisfactorily to registered and documented complaints about one of it very recently purchased microwave units have proved fruitless. No matter how much prior, documented relevant information has been provided, Sharp has remained unaccommodating. And below is a complete, unedited copy of the last email sent today to Sharp. It a response to the absurd demand that I produce and then transmit a "video."
"How many times do I have to say the same thing? First, I've never 'made a video" in my entire life. Nor would I know how to do so. Too, presumably Sharp is talking about a sort of documentary, combining both moving images and audio. Otherwise, how, for example, would the Sharp viewer recognize both the humming and scraping noises made when the microwave is operating? And those are not the only obvious deficiencies with this 'lightweight," poorly made device.
Also as stated before, the prior Sharp I'd previously owned, also circa 1.1 cu. ft.microwave (R-305 HW, serial # 157668, manufactured in Thailand in 2003) which finally gave out the first week in May 2025, was of much heavier and notably higher quality construction, with none of the obvious deficiencies of this model- which is precisely why it operated so well for TWENTY TWO years--save the light bulb failing about 10 years ago--with no way to replace said bulb without paying some appliance repair person a lot of labor charges to dismantle the entire microwave--thus great engineering-not
Whereas this SMC1161 KW cheaply made microwave would never last but a few years, and as so documented in several available online consumer product reviews I've recently read about this very same Sharp microwave. Moreover, so many past reviewers likewise have complained about the evident refusal of Sharp to stand by its microwave products that had proved deficient, by way of Sharp having constructed farcical impediments which preclude consumers having Sharp product deficiencies remedied.
So obviously having contacted online Sharp SEVERAL times now trying to get this matter resolved has proved a total waste of my time. Thus, henceforth I'll take different measures.
Last, not that Sharp obviously cares one iota, nonetheless as have other disgruntled Sharp microwave buyers so declared, I'll never again purchase another Sharp product of any kind! And as well at every future opportunity I'll 'warn off' people about ever buying any Sharp electronic products. And so be it."

Very poor quality Microwave
Wish I’d checked here before I purchased a Sharp Microwave in DID Electrical, where I was assured it was a good brand.
I’ve had microwaves for 30 years - this is without doubt the worst quality appliance I’ve ever owned.
The plastic covering on the buttons is peeling off and it retains bad smells like no other - feels like I’m cleaning it constantly. It does not get heavy use but at just over 1 year old I am having to replace it.
Avoid!
Sharp flatbed convection/microwave Ycqc254a
Purchased the Sharp convection/microwave Yc-Qc254A flatbed. The manual is very vague. I had to download it. The microwave is soaking wet after steaming food and drips out over counter top. The convection oven is not heating above 150 although it is advertised max temperature 210. It has been replaced once. Same temperature problem with the second one. Waiting on the supplier testing the oven. Also there is no led cavity light as advertised.
Sharp use to be a good brand!
I Ordered a Sharp Dishwasher from Marks Electricals. Received several emails / sms prior to delivery day confirming purchase and delivery date, all with a firm warning of £75 charges for not being in to receive delivery or having item to be returned ready and accessible. Felt quite threatening.
On the delivery day received message delivery would be 9.10 -10.50 am. Got to 12.30 and nothing so I called. I was told they were running late and only give ETA's, I commented a courtesy message saying running late would have been better.
3 hours later my Dishwasher was delivered and the drivers were polite and helpful after which I then received another message saying they would be 3 hours late.
I unpacked the Dishwasher of all factory packing and opened the door to retrieve the instruction manual, the drawer fell out. On inspection I found there was a clip missing and nowhere to be seen, the runner was twisted too ( not very good QC at Sharp).
I called Marks electrical again but their lines were down for 2 hours, so I sent an email on their web site including pictures straight away.
I received a reply asking for pictures that I had already sent .I called again and this time managed to get through, was made to give order number and details all over again and miraculously they found my pictures. I felt I wasn't being listened too as she just said they would instruct Sharp to send a new clip or I could arrange to return the item. I reiterated the runner was twisted but it seemed she just didn't want to know or wasn't listening to detail. I was told it could take several weeks for the retaining clip. I asked whether I could receive some sort of token compensation or refund for my poor experience and all she said was she would ask a manager and would be in touch. Nothing as of yet, no courtesy call or message to say Sharp have the part , apology or token gesture as of yet!
After installing the machine we have since found a hair line crack in the top panel, a side panel screw missing and the door is so wobbly it catches the sides when shutting. These items are not Marks Electricals fault however but Sharps and leaves me with the feeling that this item is going to fail or be trouble very soon. I have since looked at this site (Trustpilot) to see Marks Electrical have a decent score, so I hope they will take this opportunity to reach out to me and make me a happy customer.
As for Sharp, they have a dreadful score on this site and I only wish I had seen it before buying their product. I did ring their customer support only to be kept holding for ever, I tried four times but lost patience and gave up, Compared to my 15 year old Bush dishwasher it is definitely inferior. The whole thing moves and contorts when handled as if made of tin and the exterior panels protrude unevenly looking unfinished or poorly constructed.
If my financial situation was better I would reject it, buy a more expensive and better make, while waiting for a refund but unfortunately I can't afford to do that or manage without a dishwasher for any period of time.
Bought a Sharp microwave 6-12 months…
Bought a Sharp microwave 6-12 months ago, which just drowns in water and needs mopping out after 2 -3 uses. Sharp support suggest it might the the type of food that is being cooked?
Wont do anything without a proof of purchase, which I dont have anymore. They refuse to go off serial number.
Wont buy a sharp product again.
If I could give a 0 I would
If I could give a 0 I would.
Brought a condenser dryer with the first couple of months someone had to come out because it was leaking, no issues with the service. Fast forward to December 2024 the latch broke…. They could get the part so a whole new door was fitter in MARCH! After numerous calls, misinformation and people not doing there jobs properly I was told I would receive £50 compensation straight into my account this was Monday the 3rd, I was told it would take 3-5 days the following Wednesday I rang to ask why I hadn’t received it yet!
I’d rang Tuesday to complain about the dryer turning off and not finishing its cycle… it needed a new circuit board which wasn’t in stock and they would be waiting 6 week or more for the part! The advisor said he would enquire about the £50 and ask for my machine to be replaced!
Back to the Wednesday, the advisor this time said I wouldn’t get the £50 because I’m having a new dryer..,. BUT I SHOULD Have ALREADY HAD THE £50 before the new dryer was even mentioned!! The customer service is diabolical, the amount of energy waisted on this company is ridiculous I will never buy from them again and the replacement is another brand.
Poor implementation of GDPR consent
Bought microwave. Registered with them for extra 6 months manufacturer warranty on top of the standard 12 months.
1) model number / scanning process didn't work.
2) they have an opt out setup on postal mailings and an opt in setup on email mailings. Almost like they are trying to trick you to get some plausible claim that really want them to send you their junk mailings. ICO rules on GDPR consent make it clear that inconsistent language effectively makes the consent invalid. Sharp really need to up their game here.
Guarantee is worthless
I bought my microwave in July 2024 and it has become evident that the clock is gaining time. I have reset it several times to the second but it gains approx. 1 minute per week. My concerns were dismissed immediately by the customer services department saying they were unsure how the issue could be tested and sorry they can't help further! They have now stopped liaising with me. The guarantee is obviously not worth the paper it is written on nor is the customer services department fit for purpose. I have asked for details as to how to make an official complaint but this has also been ignored. How I wish I had read these reviews before buying this item. Anybody reading this review please be warned. I will now be pursuing this matter through other channels.
Useless Company
We purchased a tumble dryer from this company. It broke after three months it needs a new circuit board already! After numerous calls to them we got a guy round
who told us he had the wrong part! Again called several times but kept getting cut off.
Finally managed to get through today only to be told they are having difficulties getting the part. We now have to wait another two weeks until it comes in. We find it hard to believe a company who make laundry equipment don't keep spares in house.
Absolutely useless service.
Poor quality and no support
I bought a Sharp double oven Cooker, what a mistake. It arrived 2 days before Christmas and the first time it was used one of the ceramic rings didn't work. On closer inspection the build quality is terrible. Cookers are normally quite heavy and well built but the Sharp is light and flimsy. I kept badgering the supplier but they were reluctant to replace it and were pushing for a repair. However according to them Sharp were not responding. After 5 weeks of banging my head against the wall I gave up and the Cooker went back. I'm still fighting for a full refund. So not only was Cooker faulty, there is no support when something goes wrong. I have since bought a Hotpoint.
Far better quality all round.
Sharp tv crap!
This sharp tv I bought is the worst tv I have EVER owned, it freezes all the time, switches it self off, constantly having to re tune it, the tvs in the 70s were better than this pile of crap! I'm taking outside and I'm going to smash it to bits with a hammer, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING MADE BY SHARP EVER AGAIN!!!!
Absolute joke of a company technical…
Absolute joke of a company technical support number displayed on book is clearly wrong as Emily from sharp tells me I’ve made so many phone calls to get to the right department this is clearly misleading the customer once again customer service is so wrong. Can someone from Sharp white goods please call me as I’m done with making phone calls and getting to wrong department all because some idiot can’t put right number on instruction booklet.
Bought a washing machine a year of…
Bought a washing machine a year of domestic use started making a terrible noise . The guarantee and the service company in Paris France are useless. I have regretted not to buy a more expensive one. Now we lost our money with this purchase.Avoid it.
I purchased a Sharp Microwave Jet…
I purchased a Sharp Microwave Jet Convection Double Grill Model No.R86STMA, which is not one of their cheaper models approx 2 to 3 years ago but kept in a box as my old Bejam model of 30 years old was repaired and went on till now. I went to get the new unused Sharp out a month ago which has worked ok for a month but yesterday when opening the door to retrieve food from inside, my sleeve caught the lower thin plastic hook and it broke off. I call Sharp on 03300240801 and speak to rep who I explained my problem that I need a new 2 hooked plastic lever to fit inside the door and he did'nt even ask me what model I had and told me they dont have any spares at all. This should be reported to a gov. controlled body that ensures that spares are available on certain goods sold here. Absolutely rediculous that I have to buy a new microwave when all is needed is a small plastic hooked lever costing about a tenner. I have seen them advertised on ebay but not for this model. Beware when buying Sharp goods that you check if spares are available before buying....
Dryers absolutely rubbish got fault…
Dryers absolutely rubbish got fault within first 3 months got in repaired 4 weeks later same fault got it repaired next day dryer stopped working. Another call to sharp warranty they will not replace it just keeps breaking down with the same fault.
Don't buy sharp microwaves
I bought a sharp microwave in November 2024, a couple of months ago and it no longer works. I have called lots of phone numbers for the manufactures warranty to provide repair or replacement but they all pass me to another number & then said that it us Currys responsibility for this particular model to replace. Currys have refused to help.

Don't Buy Sharp.
Sharp 8kg tumble dryer. Developed a fault today, 1 week left of guarantee. Called their repair company Pacifica. The woman was more concerned with going home at 5pm. Scraping the Sharp, and brought a new tumble dryer. NOT SHARP. Never buy Sharp again or use Pacifica repair company.
