It's Fossil Friday!
Here are some zooms into my "Deep Blue Buffet" painting (Part 1), commissioned by The Etches Collection. It features a bunch of species from the Late Jurassic Kimmeridge Clay: a dead sauropod, "The Sea Rex" (probably Pliosaurus), Hybodus, Hypsocormus, Metriorhynchus, Aspidorhynchus, and lots of Allothrissops.
hatzegopteryx, for a friend
Manipulonyx, a new alvarezsaur with really fascinating hands! The condition of the fingers isn't that unusual for the clade but the OSTEODERMS on the hand are new! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE IS A SPIKE ON THE PALM?!
Anyway, Happy Holidays!
Adding to the collection of weirdly handed theropods described this year. Duonychus (a therizinosaur) and Mexidracon (a ornithomimosaur).
illustration of Manipulonyx reshetovi, a new Alvarezsaurid with unique hand osteoderms forming spikes or spurs. plumage based on various waterfowl including ducks and herons!
My childhood was strongly influenced by DinoSapien. Anyone remember DinoSapien??

I drew another interesting dinosaur, this one is Yi qi. A small theropod that looks like a bat and bird mixed together! I based mine on a Reeve's pheasant.
Caught this guy on camera.
