Dear Salt Customer Service Team,
I am writing to share my experience with Salt’s services. While I appreciate the services offered, I have faced several issues that need attention. I have found it extremely difficult to reach customer support, and every interaction I have had has been useless, never resolving any of my problems. I have also experienced unexpected charges and difficulties when trying to cancel services, and being locked into a 24-month contract without clear communication has been frustrating. In addition, the general quality of your internet service is very poor, with slow speeds and unreliable connections in many areas. Even after terminating my contract, I continued to receive bills, which caused unnecessary stress and confusion.
Given these experiences, I cannot recommend Salt’s services. I hope this feedback can be used to improve the experience for future customers. I would appreciate any guidance on resolving the outstanding issues related to my account.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.
We opened a phone number with the Surf unlimited tariff. We mistakenly provided the wrong document and were unable to complete the online identification process, so we decided to do it by mail. The post office refused to issue the document because it was mixed up. We called Salt to ask what we should do. The operator said that he had created a request and we just had to wait. We waited a week, but there was no response. We called again and were told, "I will create a request," but were asked to send a valid document. Another week of silence passed, we called, and the response was, "We cannot open your document, please send it again." We waited a whole week to hear this. Why didn't anyone respond? What if I hadn't called? Because of this success and the coldness of the operators, our tariff was postponed for two months, for which we paid, even though we didn't have a SIM card.
We decided to close the number, and the operator spent half an hour pestering us with discounts and other offers. It was awful. We agreed to close the number on January 21 (the closing date was December 15, 2025).
We breathed a sigh of relief until we received a bill for 226 francs in January for early termination of the contract. The contract states that it is valid for at least one month, which was complied with. We had to call again and ask for clarification. The operator confirmed that it was a mistake and submitted a request. Salt deducted 206 francs, saying, "This is a gesture of goodwill." No, you tried to impose a penalty on us without justification. All the conditions were met, and you had to admit your mistake. They left 20 francs to be paid because "you closed the number earlier than a month." Let me remind you that we called on December 15, and the operator closed the number on January 21. More than a month has passed here. These guys make money any way they can. This story has been going on for three months now, and it's just unbearable. No one kindly responds to emails, so we have to call personally, even though we have difficulty with the language.

They trick you into signing worse contracts and then they charge you double. From "lifetime" 39 chf/ month to 109 chf/month. I'm leaving.
Plus the network is worse than Swisscom's network.

scammers, do not take, they are scamming me extra months at the end of a cancellation. they will confirm your contract cancellation telephonically and then deny it the next call. Now theyre trying to scam me by pushing 1 month further the number passingto the next company. Not good at all!

After nearly 30 years with Swisscom, switching to Salt was a serious mistake. I was locked into a 24-month contract without clear explanation, billed for rejected calls while abroad, charged roaming fees despite being told Europe was included, and invoiced even before my router was connected.
A “CHF 2 fix” sold in-store later turned out to quietly extend my contract by six more months.
Weak TV offering, constant upselling, and condescending customer service complete the picture.
Poor transparency, aggressive lock-ins, and questionable billing. I regret leaving Swisscom and strongly advise others to read every clause and check every invoice.

DO NOT BUY SALT!!! I went to the store asking for a ONE MONTH!! prepaid plan, but the salesperson pushed me into a monthly contract instead. I agreed, without being told that there is a 2-month cancellation period and that I would be forced to pay 3 months in total. This is misleading, dishonest, and unacceptable. SALT NEVER AGAIN!!!

DO NOT USE SALT! Especially do not pay for the "care" insurance. I paid 20chf/month for 6 years and when my phone got stolen they would not replace it. Terrible terrible customer service. I spent over 24,000 Chf in 6 years with salt between myself and my partner and this is the outcome.

Fraud - Abzocker!
They ripped me off with the small prints. My monthly contract of about CHF 20.00 ended up to CHF 80- 120:00!
I was forced to be their custone for 2 whoke years!!!
CALLING CUSTOMER CARE BROUGHT MORE COSTS!!
Forget the abzocker!!!! Fraudster!
They call you every year to make you renew with the treat of increasing prices. Then one day my internet stopped working and was impossible to make them send me a technic to fix it. Imagine you do home office and they are no even able to give you a deadline. At the end I had to cancelled the contract and sued them as they wanted to make me pay 3 additional months for the internet that was not working.

Worst provider ever. There is a reason why they are the cheapest and in the end you might end up paying more than the other providers. To be avoided at all costs.

Very bad mobile service. I live close to a big city and my antenna is overloaded, leading to low speed even with a 5G connection and often during the day there are sudden unpredictable disconnections that can last for minutes. I often complained with the first level support and they were clueless in figuring out that the issues was with their quality of service. Only pressing for a technical support finally made them admit it was their issue and no solution was possible even if this issue dragged on for more than one year. Avoid this company if you need mobile connection, you pay a service they cannot deliver.

The worst company and customer experience I've ever experienced.

UPDATE
Shortly after my review Salt managed to activate the connection, and it is working very well. They also offered a deduction on the next invoice due to the inconvenience.
Therefore I upgrade the rating, still encouraging them to achieve a shorter resolution time for this kind of issues.
After 20+ years with another provider, I switched to Salt fibre (Salt Home) based on several friends' recommendation. I started the connection on Jan 13 and it did not work, apparently due to a problem in the line. The Cablex technician confirmed everything is fine in the house and indicated that further checks in the distribution "boxes" was needed. After almost a week the connection is still not working, and the Salt support advisors are not able to provide clear information on the status and on when the solution should be expected. I also filed a complaint (ref. 27114735) to which I have not yet received feedback.

Choose any other provider - If I could rate them lower I would.
Initially everything seemed fine, I signed up my partner and I to a contract each, she was living and working in the country and I would be visiting back and forth.
My partner had a Europe xl contract and I had a Europe data package.
As we had invested in the Europe packages we excepted the services to work well when we travelled to and from.
However when we used the phones abroad, the data never worked, you couldn’t load any web pages or even send messages with WhatsApp. Useless and a complete waste of money.
Nevertheless we persisted with the useless phones because we were tied to the contract.
My partner and I are now leaving the country permanently due to personal circumstances and are trying to cancel the contracts. We were originally told we would be able to cancel them if we were to leave the country with no issues, however it has been anything but.
We visited the store initially thinking it would be the easiest solution as I was only able to visit for a short time, but they pass you a business card with phone number to call and send you away.
We tried the number which is only open during the week, however it is closed due to the Christmas holidays.
I have then called from the UK, I had to sit on hold for 15 minutes before I was through to someone, all of this time being charged to my next bill.
Once I was through to the operator I explained my situation, where they then put me through to another team focused on contracts as though she was part of the cancellation team she wasn’t a specialist.
I had to explain myself again only to be told I would have to pay the full cost of my cancellation as I did not have the papers to say I was leaving the country.
I then received the cancellation email with a link hidden in the text, taking me ti a web page, where I can cancel without the full contract term but a cancellation fee instead.
All of which goes against my original information that I had from the store.
As it stands I am waiting for the final cost to cancel, but poor customer service, very average phone service and an expensive mistake ever considering them.
Whatever you do - choose a different provider…

Where does a company get the idea its ok to charge a customer to pay a bill? 1CHF every month - 12CHF a year - to pay the bill for the service that you also pay for??? The prices keep increasing - time for a change?

On October 11, I applied online to Salt, but the application process was never completed. I never received any contract, terms and conditions, or any document to sign.
After receiving an email stating that I had to complete the process within 48 hours, I sent several emails explaining that I was experiencing technical issues and could not finalize the application. None of these emails were answered, so I decided not to proceed.
Despite this, Salt started sending me invoices. They began billing me without my consent, without a signed contract, and for a service I never received.
They claim that documents were sent to my address, but they were returned. Now, they are even requesting a termination fee for a contract that I never signed and a service I never used.
Although I sent multiple emails clearly explaining the situation, the last email I sent was rejected with a message saying that the email address is no longer in use. They now say that they will contact me by phone.
This is clearly fraudulent behavior.
I demand the immediate and free cancellation of a service I never received, and the cancellation of all unjustified charges.
Serap
