So naturally it’s a dark twist on the whole Peter Pan thing, and I couldn’t help but think about Once upon a time? They did the whole dark twist thing to and I mean god damn.
Like as dark/ sad as the concept is I sort of love it?
The sound that engulfs the island every night this piercing gut renching noise. It’s the lost boys. Crying, every night without fail. Crying over forgotten mother’s, forgotten homes these faceless people and yet they cry. For god knows how many hundred years, every single night.
It’s sad but at the same time, it’s brilliant??
Ok but what does this have to do with the OTHER lost boys, y’a know… vampires
Simularites-
A group of young and seamingly harmless boys and turn out to be super super violent

How they “play”
They both share the similar thing of , hopping around (typically a fire involved) and the following
Yelling
Screaming
Howling, animal calls
Hollaring(not to be confused with yelling and screaming)
Violent and dangerous activity’s for fun that hurt themselves and or others but they get a extreme rush from it the absolute RUSH to be near death but know you won’t die, you can’t die that’s impossible. Very ignorant around the concept of death.
Leader in reality is a middle aged man trying to prove a point that is some what muddied (once! Peter , Max) and low key sort of traps them. Lost boys with the whole never aging,no longer having something to go back to (and his god damn shadow) and the other lost boys with the vampirism and the fact he’s the sire.
Now don’t get me wrong I would be completely stupid if I was to just call it pure coincidence like they weren’t both doing the “dark Peter Pan” twist thing. However these two my personal favorite takes (and only really dark ones I’ve seen) and there’s some overlap besides the basic idea that I could go into but hey.
In conclusion I can see both groups just teaming up and probably scaring the shit out of the Disney version just for kicks.
*Leans into the mic* Felix and David are the slightly(the fox/blond boy, presumed second in command) of the group and I will fucking maintain this.

Like, shit, I can rant for a while over this topic.
In fact, I can rant how The Lost Boys was the best dark/twisted film “remake” (cuz they didn’t get the rights to have it be the remake they wanted) of Peter Pan that I’ve ever seen and even in the fact it’s a ‘modern-vampire!au’ (for it’s time) it had more Neverland representation than Once did which is a damn shame considering what they’re working with on both sides.
But when it comes to SLIGHTLY I will fight people. Like by Ouat getting rid of Slightly as Slightly is (I’m not talking Disney’s Fox version either) they take away a part of the Lost Boys that truthfully could have been used to their advantage to show that they read the book and as a point to show their cause that Pan is manipulative and bad. (Because none of the lost boys in the book have their real name, so if the ouat lost boys had names even as ridiculous as the ones in Hook (1991) it would’ve taken away this memory of home for the boys and the heroes could use it as a point that to pan they’re things that they don’t even have real names. And they could have used it as pans means to make henry a true lost boy, by giving he the ultimate lost boy name.)
And I’m going to stop myself before I go off more than I have. Sorry for taking over your post but just know I agree with all 👍🏻👍🏻😍👍🏻 to the point when I dabble in fic I change Felix’s name to Slightly with no regrets. 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
