In late December 2017, ESL Australia announced Dota 2 would be its maiden season at the Sixth season of the ESL AUS Championship at the PAX Arena in Melbourne. On the 10th January 2018, ESL announced further details of the league with multiple qualifiers leading to an offline finals with a 10,000 AUD prizepool. [1]
The LAN Finals for the inaugural ESL ANZ Championship Dota 2 Season 1 commences in June with four teams qualifying from the Online Finals on the 10th and 17th April respectively. On the 17th April, it was announced that the LAN Finals would be held during Supernova Sydney on the 15–17 June at The Dome - Sydney Olympic Park, New South Wales.[2]
