[edit]You hear that? It's time to start the show.▶️Largo, the Bard Monk
Lore:
The exiled Murkroots of Velu’Mar discovered a living island so ancient it speaks only in song. Raised among the shamanic bards who learned to commune with it, Largo now roams the realms with a troupe of frogling disciples, looking for inspiration for new melodies to bring back and share with his island home.

Trivia
[edit]- In music theory, largo is one of the many tempo markings. Specifically, largo refers to a tempo of between 40–66 beats per minute.
- In Largo's hero trailer, he is heard playing a lick in utilizing the notes of a C7 chord.
- The ability name Catchy Lick references a musical lick, which is a pattern or phrase consisting of a short series of notes used, akin to a word or short sentence, very common in genres like jazz, blues, and rock.
- The ability name Frogstomp is a direct reference to the album of the same name, Frogstomp, from the Australian band Silverchair.
- The ability name Croak of Genius is a play on the saying 'stroke of genius', a common phrase in the fields of music to describe a composer's seemingly perfect flow state.
- The ability name Amphibian Rhapsody may be a reference to the famous song Bohemian Rhapsody from the band Queen.
- Within the game files, Hotfeet Hustle is sometimes named Double Time Rhythm. In music theory, to double-time means to put equal emphasis on every half-beat as on the full beats, effectively doubling the rhythm speed without actually altering the tempo.
- Within the game files, Island Elixir is sometimes named Good Vibrations, possibly a reference to the song Good Vibrations from The Beach Boys.
- Largo has Kiwi English accent, an accent originating from New Zealand, using a lot of slang words common within that accent.
▶️ "Never thought I'd get the chance to play with a beetle." – A reference to The Beatles, a very popular but retired band.- ▶️ "I've got blisters on me fingers." – A reference to the song Helter Skelter from The Beatles, in which the dummer Ringo Starr threw his drumsticks across the studio and screamed that line after the 18th recording session.
▶️ "I wonder if anyone's ever written a song about a witch doctor? I bet it'd be a hit." – A reference to the popular song Witch Doctor from Ross Bagdasarian.
▶️ "I bet nobody knows the trouble you've seen, eh Terrorblade?" – A reference to the song Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, an old African-American spiritual song that has been covered many times, a famous one being from Louis Armstrong- ▶️ "Must be the place." – Might be a reference to the song This Must Be the Place from the band Talking Heads.
- ▶️ "Ha, I guess you guys aren't ready for that." – Possibly a reference to Back to the Future, where Marty McFly says that exact same line.
▶️ "Life in Mars? Eh, not anymore there isn't." – Possibly a reference to the song Life on Mars? from David Bowie.
▶️ "Sticky fingers, but you can't lift my riffs." – Possibly a reference to the song Sticky Fingers from The Rolling Stones.
▶️ "He said he was in lock up, but he didn't even know any jail house tunes." – Possibly a reference to the song Jailhouse Rock from Elvis Presley.- ▶️ "Same old song and dance." – A reference to the song Same Old Song and Dance from Aerosmith.
▶️ "The tide may be high, but I'm holding on." – Possibly a reference to the song The Tide Is High from The Paragons.
▶️ "I bet you can make music with those crackly things. Did you ever try?" – A reference to people actually making music using tesla coils by rapdily switching their voltage on and off at specific frequences to create notes.
▶️ "You wanna play sometime, Doom? Where's your sixth hell six-string?" – References Doom's Soul Shredder cosmetic item, which is a six-string electric guitar.
▶️ "Hey hey, someone told me you play the cymbals. Is that true?" – References Ursa's Not Just Your Average Bear taunt, during which Ursa plays the cymbals while riding a unicycle.- ▶️ "Turning this battle up to eleven." – The phrase up to eleven is a pop culture reference to the mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, in which a custom-built amplifier was shown, with all the knobs going up to 11, instead of the usual 10, making it "one louder" than any other amplifier.
▶️ "Can you breathe under water in that thing? Do you need to breathe?" – Plays on the community joke about Arc Warden's head resembling a fish glass bowl.
▶️ "Hey, you got any fairy bread?" – Refers to fairy bread, a popular sweet snack in Australia and New Zealand.
▶️ "I think it's nobler in the mind for you to just die already." – A reference to "To be, or not to be", a famous speech in Shakespeare's Hamlet.- Largo's design can be an allusion to Heroes of Newerth's Pollywog Priest, a port of Dota's
Shadow Shaman.
