It's been over 13 weeks since we handed our kees back and over 9 weeks since we are no longer responsible for the flat we were renting.
And, 4 weeks since the flat was posted for sale.
Heimstaden noted 6-8 weeks for the final settlement of our deposit. And I am assuming that since they are able to sell the flat, there is nothing stopping them for completeling the settlement of deposit.
At this point they are not replying to my emails. And I assume they are prolonging it with no justification.

We are a couple who have been apartment hunting in Copenhagen for months like many people. The housing market in CPH is crazy and very challenging to navigate, especially if you are not fully immersed in the city life. Don't worry there is hope!

Pernille is an awesome human, both professional and supportive in your housing search. She has supported us through clear communication and by understanding our needs. After not being successful in our first couple of attempts, we stayed in touch and were made aware when suitable apartments became available for us to visit amongst other people viewing properties. (They have a handy search alert on their website)
They have a fair and clear way of working, they provide beautiful apartments for all budgets across many locations and often in very cool neighbourhoods.
They use a lottery system for selecting tenants, after you have viewed a property and applied. This is a fair and equal way to be selected. It can be disappointing if you don't get one at the first attempt but keep going it will come!
Eventually we were successful and Pernille has been efficient to organise contracts and answering our questions.
If you're navigating the Copenhagen rental market, Pernille and Heimstaden are the team you want in your corner!

Kim has conducted the survey in a professional way and was glad to have him for both move in and out inspection. To top it all being an expat there was no communication barrier as Kim could communicate quite well in English.

We can recommend Heimstaden. We rent an apartment from them for almost 3 years. Everything went well and with good system to report issues in the apartment.
When we need to move out, we got Kim as our inspector and he is very nice and fair at putting the moving out report.

I had the move out inspection done by Kim. He was very professional and friendly! He was here right on time. He checked everything carefully and told us about everything he is filling in the report, and explained everything clearly with details.
He also spoke English language which made the process very smooth for us.

Terrible and unbelievably unprofessional! Only good at taking your money, and then charge ridiculous works at move-out.
All the electric appliances and cabinets were filthy at moving in, and we were charged 1.890kr 🤯 for cleaning upon moving-out!!! Painting and floor sanding in rooms that were untouched. Long story short, the bill came and we were supposed to get only ~16% of the 53.000 kr deposit back. So far, so good...
Then I actually never received that money!!! I had to reach out and start asking. They claimed that they didn't have my bank information. Seriously? As if they couldn't use the account where I paid the rent from, or my nemConto or, well, just ask for information they were missing. So, two months later, after finding out that they made a mistake with the deposit, they didn't even care to take responsibility.
Once, I needed an English copy of the contract. They were unable to provide it, so I compromised with a simple statement/certificate as proof of residency. It took one week and a hundred emails to get a decent document.
Such a shame for a big company to treat clients without any respect.

I have been renting with Heimstaden for eight years now and just recently have moved to a different apartment in the city. The entire experience has been a pleasure. They are very helpful and provide good value for the money that they ask for. Switching apartments was also very easy; they helped me find a new place and just today, I had a hand-over of the old apartment with Kim from Heimstaden who was very nice, supportive and good to talk to. I will be staying with them for a while longer :)

Heimstaden refused to cancel a parking fine sent out by mistake, for a car that had the right to be parked where it was. Their new system can only send emails about car registration to one person, even when there are 2 names in the contract! I had the worst customer service in 20 years from one person called Nana. PS. Thanks for your answer but you sent the registration email to only one of the two people on the rental contract, because your system does not support sending 2 emails.
