it/its, ze/hir. Adult. transmascfem, cry about it if you want. I'm marked red because I believe transandromisia exists, and I support actual AFAB transfems (despite the fact that there are bad actors, because I'm able to tell that even if there are trolls using the identity there are genuine people who shouldn't be lumped with them). no, I do not deny the existence of transmisogyny, it's just that the word 'transmisogynist' doesn't apply to me. More in pinned.

a screenshot of a tweet with an image attached. tweet by user mischa, @/makowwka - text reads:

"a reminder for myself and other butch lesbians"

image below is a four panel image in the colour scheme of the orange butch pride flag. first image shows a thin butch with a brown mullet, several tattoos, a red sleeveless button-down, and grey striped pants. the second shows a fat, white butch with piercings and stretch marks, with asymmetrial green long hair and a black shirt that says "butch dykes for trans rights" in red letters on it. the third shows a black butch in a wheelchair with some cute bug tattoos and a cat shirt. the fourth panel has the butch pride flag above it and holds a text that reads: "always butch enough."

the bottom of the image is signed with the artist's name, mischa makowka.

I love GNC trans people. it's just so awesome to exist in that way, to present as what people expect your AGAB to present like and declare that you are another gender entirely.

I love people who do things that are considered GNC, but they don't consider it GNC themselves. as a transmasculine entity who paints its nails and wears makeup, crop tops, jewelry, and the occasional dress, I don't really see it as all that GNC. genderfucky, sure, but all of these things still feel masculine for me.

additionally, I love intersex and trans women who have facial hair and see it as part of their femininity. I love trans women who feel feminine while wearing what other people consider 'masculine'. I love trans and intersex and fat men who feel manly with boobs. I love trans men and transmascs who don't feel feminine while having a style that's considered 'feminine'. I love trans people who are simply alternative and can be labeled GNC because of that, but don't see themselves as such personally. I love the intersex people who are told they are 'basically men/women' because of how they look and/or present, but identify firmly with something else and see these so-called manly/womanly traits as part of their masculinity/femininity.

I love multigender people who consider themselves gender nonconforming, as well as the multigender people who don't. same goes for nonbinary people.

I love GNC cis (perisex) people, too. gender nonconformity is just cool as fuck in general. being yourself and rejecting the label of gender nonconforming, despite what other people may think based on your presentation and body, is also cool as fuck. may you feel less pressure to change yourself for anybody.

butch lesbians and dykes and transmasc dykes i just adore you. trans male lesbians i adore you. lesbians who are men, guys, gentlemen, husbands, boyfriends, fathers, brothers, etc. you're incredible. the world would be completely fucking unbearable without butches and transmasc lesbians.

anyways, I am not letting discourse get in the way of enjoying queerness and being a part of the community. I love being transmasc, I love being genderqueer, I love being a stud, I love being a bear, I love being a gaybian and aroacespec and m-spec. I love being vaguely transfem and having my intersexuality, autism, and blackness shape my identity as a whole. I love having xenogenders and using it/its pronouns and neos as an adult. I love existing despite the pushback from others, I love being a source of education and inspiration.

I love being myself.

Every time I feel like I can't fuck with gender by wearing skirts and shit because I'm butch, I just remind myself of you. I doubt I'm getting to the point where I can comfortably wear 'feminine' clothes any time soon, but you and your blog definitely help keep me from restrictive viewpoints in the very least.

Thank you.

aww holy hell, that means a lot, thank you for sending this ask! that's honestly very incredible, i'm very honored

honestly, realizing butches (and femmes, and everyone else) can do whatever the hell they want and do not have to conform to the common definition of butchhood really liberated me from a lot of internal binaries that i was struggling with, so i'm glad you've picked up on that as well! butches don't have to conform to stereotypes in order to be butch. if cis people can refuse to conform to gender stereotypes, why can't butches? you can be a gender non conforming butch- butch is an identity steeped in pretty rigid boundaries in a lot of people's minds. it doesn't make a masculine person less masculine to dress in "feminine" clothing.

a cishet macho man wearing a dress is no less of a man for doing so. a butch is no less of a butch for wearing a skirt or dress. that's how i see it, anyway. it's a lot more liberating, that's for sure. thanks for stopping by to let me know, i really appreciate it! take things day by day, step by step. i think you're working in the right direction :)

black butch culture is getting really tired of how racist white queer people are. at this point they might as well start throwing the hard R around with how repugnant they are towards queer POC.

as a black transmasc, it couldn't be clearer who is most appreciated. that 'fluffy hair transmasc' shit ONLY takes into account white (skinny) transmascs, which is super fucking funny considering how afros can fall under 'fluffy hair' too. if I wore my hair out of braids, I'd be treated wildly different from my white peers, because my hair is 'too wild' to be 'societally acceptable'. :/

black transfem? well you have to break your ass trying your hardest to be hyper-fem, probably even more so than white transfem butches are pressured to. it could not be more obvious how anti-masculinity affects black people, and white queer people are massive perpetrators! they'll grin in your face as they spew blatant racism at you, claiming they're a 'safe space', until you're black. until we all 'look like men'

Black butch culture is...

I think more cis butches who want top surgery should get it, not just because it pisses off TERFs and that's funny, but because it helps normalize a post double mastectomy body on women. ya know, the thing women with breast cancer dread to have? because as a society we treat breasts as a womanly body part, and when a woman gets a literal lifesaving procedure it's treated as a tragedy cuz they're 'mutilated' now? yeah, I don't know, I think normalizing top surgery in women is a Good Thing. treating post op results from a double mastectomy as "mutilation" is super fucked up all around and is yet another example of how TERF rhetoric hurts cis women too. TERFs are so fucking stupid that they consistently harm the "real" women they claim to care so much about. shocker.

Fat Butch Tuesday + Fat Tboy Tuesday

double whammy today folks! most of these pictures were taken by my lovely boyfriend (whom i have moved in with now!!). This is a reminder to the fat trans, intersex, butch, femme, and bear folks out there to take pride in your body. Appreciate how far you’ve come. Appreciate the queerness you carry, appreciate how beautiful and handsome you are. Fat people are so fucking attractive and i can guarantee that if I saw any of you on the streets I would be in awe <33

shoutout to masculine presenting nonbinary people, and I don't just mean hairless AFAB twinks (though they are included). The fact that people even need to make posts about this sort of thing is so sad, and just shows how anti masculinity queer people can be. Those 'she+' or whatever spaces I've seen mentioned by other people are just so sickening, because you know they draw the line at those of us who are a little too masc. "We need to protect women and AFABs!" okay, so you're demonizing masculinity, one, you're infantilizing women, two, and you appear to be lumping every AFAB person with women, three. How is that NOT harmful?
