Okay I checked it - clicked apply Unchecked it - clicked apply and it shows that delaying is now turned off. I think it may be fixed. Also, have you looked at your assp.cfg file to see if there is a line with EnableDelaying:= I'm not positive, but it looks like if the code does not find an entry in the config file for a particular option, it uses a default value. If the save function can't write that entry to the file (e.g. it's set read only or permissions are too strict) it won't save your changes. Also, make sure that there are no characters after the = sign. It should be =, then newline. Nate |

Try this: Check 'Enable Delaying/Greylisting', hit Apply. Open maillog.txt and verify the setting changed. UnCheck 'Enable Delaying/Greylisting', hit Apply. Open maillog.txt and verify the setting changed. Checking it then unchecking it and then hitting apply does nothing as the program sees nothing as changed. Kevin |

Thats just it. It isn't checked. None of the delay settings are checked. Just to make sure I checked it and then unchecked it again and I clicked apply Then I generated the "changed defaults" listing again and this is what it still says EnableDelaying: Enable Delaying/Greylisting: Current: Default: 1 DelayAddHeader: Add X-Assp-Delayed Header: Current: Default: 1 DelayEmbargoTime: Embargo Time: Current: 1 Default: 5 DelayWaitTime: Wait Time: Current: Default: 28 DelayExpiryTime: Expiry Time: Current: Default: 36 The web interface has delaying turned off (unchecked) yet it is still on and I can't turn it off no matter what I try. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin" <ass...@la...> To: "Questions and Answers for users of ASSP Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy" <ass...@li...> Sent: Friday, March 30, 2007 3:44 PM Subject: Re: [Assp-user] ASSP Delaying - I need to turn it off > Matt Ferguson wrote: >> I sent them to the list >> >> Here they are again (from the e-mail properties in outlook express) >> >> example 1 >> >> X-Assp-Delay: delayed for 12m; 30 Mar 2007 12:11:48 -0400 >> >> example 2 >> X-Assp-Delay: delayed for 8m 41s; 30 Mar 2007 12:01:38 -0400 >> >> example 3 (from same user that sent example 2 becaue I replied to him) >> X-Assp-Delay: not delayed (auto accepted); 30 Mar 2007 12:06:38 -0400 >> >> >> >> If I look at the web interface under "delaying" delaying is turned off. >> >> In the "Changed Defaults" area in the web interface here is the new >> setting >> as it stands right now. >> EnableDelaying: Enable Delaying/Greylisting: Current: Default: 0 >> >> It was set to this >> EnableDelaying: Enable Delaying/Greylisting: Current: Default: 1 >> >> >> However e-mails appear to still be delayed. >> >> Do I need to restart ASSP after making a change to the "Changed Defaults" >> area? > > Changed Defaults is a read only output that shows the settings that have > been changed. Changed Defaults is a read only output that shows the settings that have been changed. Making changed to it does nothing. You need to go into the 'Delaying/Greylisting' section and uncheck 'Enable Delaying/Greylisting' then click Apply. Kevin |

I sent them to the list Here they are again (from the e-mail properties in outlook express) example 1 X-Assp-Delay: delayed for 12m; 30 Mar 2007 12:11:48 -0400 example 2 X-Assp-Delay: delayed for 8m 41s; 30 Mar 2007 12:01:38 -0400 example 3 (from same user that sent example 2 becaue I replied to him) X-Assp-Delay: not delayed (auto accepted); 30 Mar 2007 12:06:38 -0400 If I look at the web interface under "delaying" delaying is turned off. In the "Changed Defaults" area in the web interface here is the new setting as it stands right now. EnableDelaying: Enable Delaying/Greylisting: Current: Default: 0 It was set to this EnableDelaying: Enable Delaying/Greylisting: Current: Default: 1 However e-mails appear to still be delayed. Do I need to restart ASSP after making a change to the "Changed Defaults" area? thanks Matt ----- Original Message ----- From: "Fritz Borgstedt" <fb...@iw...> To: "Questions and Answers for users of ASSP Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy" <ass...@li...> Sent: Friday, March 30, 2007 3:21 PM Subject: Re: [Assp-user] ASSP Delaying - I need to turn it off > >>I sent a few examples of the delay. I sent a few examples of the delay. Hopefully they were received okay. I checked the override default settings area as suggested and the enable delay option was set to 1. Is that normal? So I am guessing that I should set it to 0? I did this to see if that will fix the issue. The ASSP install was performed by a network team member so I am not sure if any settings were overwritten and do not know if that setting is set to 0 or 1 by default. thanks a lot Matt ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin" <ass...@la...> To: "Questions and Answers for users of ASSP Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy" <ass...@li...> Sent: Friday, March 30, 2007 3:01 PM Subject: Re: [Assp-user] ASSP Delaying - I need to turn it off > Matt Ferguson wrote: >> I am not sure if my first message went through (because I was not >> registered on this list yet) so I am going to send this one more time. >> >> I am running ASSP verison 1.3.0 and we have delaying/graylist turned off >> via the web interface. >> >> Even though it is turned off, all of our e-mails (most of them anyway) >> are being delayed anywhere from 5 - 60 minutes. >> >> When I look at the e-mail details it shows ASSP is delaying the e-mails. >> >> This appears to be a defect to me but perhaps I am overlooking something. >> How do I turn off delaying? >> >> We have a business model in which e-mails need to reach us immediately >> while we are talking with customers on the phone. > > Did you hit apply in the web interface? > > Could you post an example from the ASSP maillog showing the delaying? > > Click "Changed defaults" on the bottom left of the admin interface and > see what 'EnableDelaying' is set to. > > Also if the messages are coming from an automated system try adding the > sending address to the 'No Delaying Spam-Lover' field. Did you hit apply in the web interface? Could you post an example from the ASSP maillog showing the delaying? Click "Changed defaults" on the bottom left of the admin interface and see what 'EnableDelaying' is set to. Also if the messages are coming from an automated system try adding the sending address to the 'No Delaying Spam-Lover' field. (this options is probably best) Kevin |

I am not sure if my first message went through (because I was not = registered on this list yet) so I am going to send this one more time. I am running ASSP verison 1.3.0 and we have delaying/graylist turned off = via the web interface. Even though it is turned off, all of our e-mails (most of them anyway) = are being delayed anywhere from 5 - 60 minutes. When I look at the e-mail details it shows ASSP is delaying the e-mails. This appears to be a defect to me but perhaps I am overlooking = something. How do I turn off delaying? We have a business model in which e-mails need to reach us immediately = while we are talking with customers on the phone. thank you Matt |

I am asking for *differences* between a spam-mail and the copy of it. |

Yes, also 1.3.0 truncates up from 10K (that's my MaxBytes BTW). Not only CCSpam but CCHam as well. That's what makes me sick as I can't open majority of attachments in CCHam. The killall man page doesn't go into great detail about signals, but it does say: Signals can be specified either by name (e.g. -HUP) or by number (e.g. -1). To get the details on signals, use man 7 signal Note that SIGHUP and HUP are functionally equivalent AFAIK.
