delivered the car damaged
delivered the car damaged, provided them proof - they denied accountability or action. Later discovered car was missing a part that was not missing when the car was arrived to their lot. Their is no real security. Seems like the workers there pull parts out and sell them off market from what i've heard. Don't even ask how many calls and days I had to go through to get them to deliver the car.
Unfair
Unfair, Misleading, and Dishonest Bidding Process
I bid £400 on a car. The listing flashed on my screen for only 2 seconds, then disappeared. Moments later I was told I had “won” the car for £1200, even though I never saw or confirmed the details. An hour later, I got a counteroffer of £1825 (which I never accepted), yet 26 hours later an email arrived saying “Congratulations” as if I had agreed.
When I spoke to them, I found out the system was set up in a way that forced me into paying an extra £300 in tax. They ignored my explanation and refused to listen to the full story.
On top of this, I was also bidding on another car, and the same kind of shady process happened — confusing, misleading, and clearly designed to make me pay more than expected.
This isn’t just bad service — it feels like a trap. I would strongly warn others to avoid this platform. The process is unclear, manipulative, and unfair.
I’ve been in big scam. They deserve good lawyers to put them on place, because is not possible biding 5 seconds- even less …
Bid as if there was no engine at least
Bid as if there was no engine at least. Everything we bought had a broken engine. I can rebuild them myself, so I did, but car was listed as "runs and drives". Everything there is a scam basically. You simply need to assume the worst and be happy when you get lucky.
Just another bunch of ignorant
Just another bunch of ignorant, uneducated, incompetent bungling idiots, rude and most of disrespectful.
Dishonest and make use of bureaucracy…
Dishonest and make use of bureaucracy to try and ware you down to accept things. They lie directly about fees. The worst company i have ever been unfortunate enough to deal with.
If I could leave a lower rated review
If I could leave a lower rated review, I would. I bid during an auction on Tues and was pending. Seller countered. Took a day. Vehicle was awarded sometime Wed without notice. I wired the money Friday. Copart didn't process it until Monday and added a $50 late fee. Called to ask for it to be reversed and some evil troll in Accounting recited the policy about payment being late. I asked her if she was there to accept it Sat/Sunday. They charge storage on weekends and holidays when you can't pick up. The delay processing payments to charge more late fees and storage. I hate this company with a passion. They steal parts off my vehicles, cause damage, ship their nasty garbage in vehicles I have bought to save dumpster fees. They are thieves, liars, and crooks. I hate them.
I've purchase 5 vehicles over the years…
I've purchase 5 vehicles over the years with Copart, the first 4 were accurately described and I obtained additional information to make an informed purchase. This last time was a disaster! Vehicle listed was an offsite sale, meaning it was consigned by copart. Information provided was from the seller. The seller filled out a Go Report stating what was wrong and what was in working order? They gave report to copart to list offsite vehicle on consignment. So with information provided by copart and seller I also obtained a clear vin report for any other pertinent information. When I went to bid and make offer I could not use my account because I did not have a certain license so went with AutoBidMaster. I have used them before and they were very helpful. Just wanted a good running chassis for a project I was working on, didn't really care about cosmetics etc? So this vehicle had a go report of vehicles current condition, Great that's just the kind of info I need to make an informed decision? Report said ac blows cold, it did not? Report stated no check engine light, Has check eng light,
report stated drives freeway speeds, it does not. Stuck in limp mode.
Report states brakes working, Has faults on dash for anti lock brake and traction control.
Over a third of report supplied by seller was false!
Copart and Autobidmaster wash their hands of it? I really didn't think they were responsible, but won't even hold offsite seller accountable?
And that's the rub!!! No accountability! Autobidmaster and copart don't care about the customer!!! If they did this would be a no brainer, go back to seller and hold funds until situation rectified?

I sold my car to co part as it needed a new engine, they offered me £400 they cancelled and changed the pick up of the car a number of times. They sent the driver out to collect the car but forgot to give him the keys which I had posted to their office the week before very disorganised. When they collected the car they rung me to let me know they can’t give me any money for the car due to the car needing cleaned, it does say that a cleaning fee may have been occurred in the paper work but why is not clear is that the fee off the cleaning fee is £500 despite the car only having minimal stuff in like some plastic bottles and a jumper I think I left in the vehicle. When they said a cleaning fee I thought maybe £50 not a £500. It’s an absolute scam and I wouldn’t trust them as far as you could throw them. Especially if they are only wanting to use the car for parts not sure why they wanted an immaculate car. Do not trust them they are scammers.
My son had an accident back in Feb
My son had an accident back in Feb. 2025 and he called Copart to sell his car shortly after accident.
A driver showed up towed the car and issued him a check for $900.00 which they stopped payment on immediately. They said they stopped payment because he needed to sign a DR form first, which he did.
Since then, they have given him the run around threatened him and keep telling the BBB that they issued him a check and refuse to pay him his money and just stole his car.
I don't have the words to explain how awful this company is. I have been a small business owner my entire life and am shocked by this type of criminality. My advice is stay far away from this business.

I recently bought a car that was announced as "run and drive", but when I got it I realized that was a lie. The car wasn't running, it didn't have some pieces and I had to spent more money on getting the car repaired. They don't have any support channel and for sure they wont take responsability on this.

I recently had a really frustrating experience with Copart. Initially, I placed a single bid on a vehicle, but once the auction went higher, I stopped bidding. Despite that, I kept getting notified that I was somehow "winning" at much higher prices. I even called their customer service in advance to make it clear that I didn't place any additional bids. They assured me everything would be fine and that someone else would outbid me if I wasn't bidding.
Now I've been told I "won" the car at a price that's way above market value and far beyond what I ever agreed to. It's really disappointing and feels like they were bidding on my behalf without my consent. I'd be very cautious if you're planning to use them.

This review is specifically for Amy @colchester Copart, she was absolutely amazing, stayed behind and helped us to collect our car. We were running late. Real gem of a person, very polite and professional.
If only all of Copart staff were as nice it would be great.
Really helped us out when I was in a pickle.
horrible company horrible service
horrible company horrible service. obstacles to payment. confusing. apply payments wrong then charge late fees when its their fault. no service. 20% on motorcycle auctions is incredulous.
2 years and still no refund of money
Hi, first of all, I think it’s not logical to pay for a subscription before applying for your documents. Normally, you should first check the documents and confirm eligibility, then pay. Even though they said there would be a refund, why did they take the money from me first? On top of that, we also paid other fees.
Now they refuse to refund anything. They didn’t open the service for us, they took all the money without providing any services. What’s worse is that they train their customer service staff to avoid responsibility—just giving empty answers to make you go away.
Now they are playing games by email, asking again for Bank account details to process a very small refund, even though we have already sent all the details many, many times. It’s been 2 years and we haven’t received anything.
“In my experience, I felt like this company just takes people’s money without giving real value.”
Co con professionals
Sold me a car as RUNS and drives.. the cars rear wheels were seized... but they classed that as RUNS and drives..

I only give them 1 star because I had to.
Constantly harassing you by phone, Wrongly diagnosing, poorly valuation. Even with 2 other independent garages reports!
Copart work alongside Aviva, would definitely not recommend either, poor service on both parts.

Copart recovered my vehicle following an accident. Their valuation for my vehicle was well below market value. When i provided live examples of similar vehicles and online valuations they ignored my evidence and refused to revisit my claim. During phone calls their operatives were ignorant and derisory to my points and even hung op on me when they grew tired of listening to my valid points. I urge anyone to avoid this company.
Coparts Denver…
I Talked to Service member in Denver Coparts on buyers fee. They told me its a 3% charge on a Motor home purchase.so looking at 100 k purchase. I pushed the button to buy it now and got charged 20%.!!!! $21,000 buyers fee. I went in and explIned everything to Jason the Manager and he was willing to do nothing but relist and charge me 10k for that. Coparts needs to train employees on there terms and policys so they are not misinforming customers. Im pissed!!

Copart used a subcontractor for my boat salvage pickup. They stalled, insisted on revising their bid twice because of factors they already knew, just to gouge my insurance company. But Copart, who doesn't know how to manage subcontractors, let these people nickel-and-dime my insurance company for weeks, even though they had clear contract requirements. Tell your insurance company to NEVER use Copart!
I bought a car paid for delivery
I bought a car paid for delivery, on the day of delivery I registered a Copart transportation as I got given a time from my driver on that day, Copart did not let me book an appointment because I registered the same day so now I am down £300 because of a lack of communication and need to repay shipping
