This is a total scam

This is a total scam. Sure it comes up first, sure it's easy to use, but it comes at least 20% service fee which isn't refundable if you planned for this to be a certain trip. We bought Business class tickets, On the Swedish Rail site, we could have selected our reserved seats without a service fee. Moreover, Swedish rail warns that they have cancelled the high speed trains, but Rail.Ninja is still selling tickets for these trains without any similar warning.

Impossible to claim a refund.

Firstly overcharged the face value of the ticket by roughly 30% which we didn't realise until arriving at the train station. Our train was cancelled so we re bought at the station for cheaper. I've now been pursuing a refund for over 2 months from rude staff who ignore your concerns, and just provide pre generated stock phrases. To top this all off I have now received an email saying my case has been closed with zero notice. The saga continues...

An absolute scam

An absolute scam. Service charge of over 100% is applied and children that do not need train tickets yet are being charged fully. Avoid this company and book by the train company itself!

Absolutely mortified…

Collected my pre-ordered rail tickets today at the train station (ordered via railninja). Absolutely mortified to see I paid over £100 more than face value. Do not use.

If I could give this company a negative…

If I could give this company a negative star I would. They are a scam and once I realized this immediately contacted my bank. They look legit but when they send you your ‘tickets’ you can’t download them. In addition, the cost of our tickets in the UK I soon discovered we’re 4X LESS than the charge that rail.Ninja tried to charge me.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! This is a third party company who takes your money and purchases tickets via official website. ( we didn’t know that VY was the official company that operates the train in Norway and Rail Ninja’s website makes it look like they are the official seller , when they are NOT!) awful customer service as well , customer service rep are super dismissive and rude.

For context - we purchased our ticket from Oslo to Bergen in May for a trip in August. We were advised that VY ( Official train company ) only starts selling ticket one month prior to departure. Rail ninja decided to cancel our tickets ( and told us that there is no seats available ??? ) Even though we purchased an additional 1x ticket for our friend who decided to join last min , at a higher price in July and there was seat for this more expensive ticket ) and they refunded us the two tickets that they said had no seats left.

However - we then went on VY’s website and was able to purchase two tickets two weeks prior to our departure date at the same price we paid! ( SO RAIL NINJA LIED).

Fast forward - the train was cancelled due to weather. We got our two tickets purchased via VY directly refunded ( speedy and no problem ) at the same time - I also asked them if the ticket bought via Rail Ninja was refunded and they said yes and sent me the confirmation showing the refund had been made and should reach their payment method within 48 hours. 72 hours later I checked with Rail Ninja- they still said they don’t have the refund. ( I honestly highly doubt they’re going to refund me ). VY advised the maximum time it should take to reach their account is 48 hours, so once again - Rail Ninja isn’t telling the truth.

Wish I had read the reviews earlier

Wish I had read the reviews earlier. Bought tickets Oslo to Stockholm, tried several sites such as Norway Rail or Sweden Rail and all directed me to this one as their official portal. Got ripped off by $100 from the official price! Could have had a fully flexible ticket with meals for $100 less. Unfortunately the official sites were buried beneath and these fake ones dominate the search. I would agree - it's a scam!

faultless experience

I was very sceptable about the company following the reading of the reviews, bit our experience was faultless.
Booked the tickets in June for an August train ride. They arrived immediately via email. Train arrived on time, seats were correct, everything worked out fine.
Only downside was i could have probably got the tickets a few pound cheaper by going to the Train company direct. overall though, no problems.

Ninja Rails survives through predatory pricing. They add exorbitant fees to tickets. My recent train ticket was priced at less than 100 Euros. The additional hidden fees resulted in a charge on my credit card of 325 Euros. STAY AWAY AND BEWARE. There is no human to address concerns (they do not take phone calls).

Booked months ago, still no tickets...

We booked a train months ago to go from Jakarta to Yoga. They asked what time, what class, etc. We picked a train time and class that exists. Weeks later they said they couldn't accommodate the time, pick a new one. One option listed was the same time. Rinse and repeat.

The train is next week and we still don't have ref# to get tickets from railninja. We booked via tiket.com and had the ref# within a minute. They still have our money.

1000% a scam

1000% a scam. They refuse to refund me because I disputed the charge due to them being a fraudulent company. My tickets show as paid on their site, but also canceled. Their "customer service" is infuriating and refuses to do anything, just referring me back to my bank, who has paid them for the non-existent tickets. Do yourself a favor and avoid this "company" at all costs.

This is a scam

This is a scam. Rail Ninja charges double the price of the local train company for no additional benefit. I booked a train from Faro to Lisbon, and paid the said premium thinking I was getting additional benefits as per the fare terms stated: flexible.

Modification: In event of modification you will incur the following fees:
Price difference if any
Our modification fee: 0 USD
Carrier modification fee: 0 USD

However when I had to change the time of my train I was charged an additional $14 to an already expensive ticket. I exchanged messages with them complaining about this in relations to the terms of the ticket I bought, but was continuously denied my complain and given answers about them being a private company and that their T&Cs state that there is a fee for modifications. It's contradicting information, very poor customer service and abusive pricing. They are basically a scam.

Stay away from them and book through normal, legit websites.

Wrong seats, reserved 6months in advance!! Poor communication and they charge way higher prices than you get from the train company.

My GF and I ordered seats side by side so we can sit together but instead we are pushed in by the narrow side at the train sitting on the 1person row. Last time i will use rail ninja. Cant even fix the right seats when you order 6months in advance.
I STRONGLY recommended others using the website for the train company and order 1-2months in advance, way cheaper and you will get right seats!

Can’t believe this website can still operate!

Omg I should read all the reviews here before booking my train tickets in Ireland as well! This site is absolute SCAM I also paid double the rail tickets from Dublin to Limerick without realizing until I see the price on the tickets. This company should go bankrupt!! Ridiculous!!

This is a scam website

This is a scam website. They have created websites that looks like official rail networks and charge an exorbitant 'service' charge for any cancellations when the original train company charge is zero. I was fooled in to booking a Korean train ticket that cost £240 and when I realised the scam and cancelled it the charge is £70!!
Better to go down the road and rob someone at gunpoint than running this sham website

Rip off charlatans.

I assumed I had bought a return ticket to Barcelona from Valencia through Renfe (as shown on the tickets) and it was only when I received my MasterCard bill that I noticed I had been charged £116 sterling. As both tickets showed a total value of €89.30 Euros, I had been overcharged massively. I complained and got a stupid answer claiming they had to pay their employees. Also I did not get the upgraded seats I had paid for. A massive con and the Government should stop them trading. My bill showed RailNinja Sliema MLT. Stay away from them at all cost.
