As a child, after his mum passed, Killian would curl in bed facing the wall and hear her voice in his head singing lullabies and quietly speaking to him, and he’d whisper his half of the conversation with her in the dark room he shared with Liam. Liam heard, of course, but if Killian felt safer muttering to their dead mother, he wasn’t about to tell him to do otherwise.
After Liam’s death, when Killian took control of his newly renamed ship and hesitantly began to occupy Liam’s cabin – the captain’s cabin, and therefore Killian’s now – he’d set the table for two, and speak to the space where Liam once sat. At first it was simple conversation, things he’d say if Liam had never died in the first place. But gradually, some resentment grew amongst the missing and emptiness, and he’d have full-blown arguments aloud in the cabin, sometimes clear enough for some of the crew to hear, though they’d never even consider saying a word about it. After all, Liam was their captain, too, and though Killian was an excellent captain (albeit of a different genre entirely), they missed the steadiness of Liam Jones. Years later, when that spark of resentment had faded, Killian would ask Liam for guidance and advice, but mostly forgiveness for the man he was becoming.
In Neverland, following Milah’s death, he carried on speaking to his beloved for years. There were apologies for not saving her, promises of vengeance, pleas for her to wait for him in the afterlife. There were recreations of conversations they’d had before, though with alterations, additions that he wished he’d thought to say at the time. There were declarations of love, enough to fill days, weeks, months, years. There were guilt-laden sorry’s when he sought comfort and relief in another’s arms. As always, in his mind, she never wanted the apologies, told him there was nothing to forgive, gave him a piece of her mind when she thought he was being stupid.
in infinity war i need thor to have no idea who peter is but he doesn’t ask, he just sees him using his tech and talking about designing something and interacting with tony, and at some point during the movie thor says to tony, “you should be proud of your son”
and tony’s like, “my what now”
”your son. peter?”
”…he’s not- you thought he was my sON?”
and thor gets like awkwardly defensive and goes “well…you know he has the…the electronics…”
That is the best description of Steve I have ever seen
I was always so confused about if Joss Whedon had seen The First Avenger. Because Steve swears in the movie. Not like hard, its a PG-13 family movie, but he does swear.
I think Joss Whedon falls into the same trap as bad fic writer, where he thinks Steve is a farmer from 1950s Kansas instead of Irish Catholic kid from 1920s Brooklyn.
Steve Rogers is 400 pounds of righteous kickass in a 100 pound body and by using the serum the army found room for only most of it.
And he’s progressive and liberal as hell, he was an artist before he was a soldier making posters for the WPA.
Sky High Remake. Freshman year. Same plot, same characters, Will is still a dipshit, but it’s less 00s looking with modern fashion, modern acting people, better CGI. Make Warren Peace gayer. Sets up the whole series.
Sky High Sequel. Sophomore year. The main character is Layla. The hero and sidekick set up has been demolished. Now students who have sidekick powers are in the same classes as students with bad ass powers and are getting the butts kicked constantly. The main characters fight over weather or not this is better and their friend group splits in two. They don’t talk to each other as Layla desperately tries to make everyone get along. Eventually they have to put their fighting aside to fight the Gym Coach and his army of bullies who has been secretly setting up former sidekicks to fail so that all the heroes of the future aren’t “lame.” They take him down and compromise, agreeing that people should be matched by power level but not separated.
Sky High 3. Junior year. The main character is Ethan (puddle guy). He wakes up without his powers. He doesn’t tell anyone because he thinks nobody will like him if he has no powers and that they’ll come back soon enough. Slowly he realizes that other kids have lost their powers too but aren’t telling anyone. The group befriends Sophomore known for not having any powers at all whose there because his parents have powers. Turns out he knows the ins and outs of the school really well and he helps them as they go on a mission to discover what happened to their powers. This new guy starts dating Warren. Finally the whole team has to fight the villain, a new character with sidekick parents, who has been stealing the powers of the students to make himself stronger so he can be the best hero ever.
Sky High 4. Senior year. The main character is Warren. We finally get to see his family and what it’s like with one hero parent and one villain parent. His parents don’t live together because his dad Baron Battle is in jail but it’s weird. But he learns his dad has broken out of jail. This makes things really weird for him and Will as Will’s parents are out looking for him. Eventually Warren and Will have a big fight, using their powers, and they both get suspended. Finally, at Prom, Warren’s dad appears at the school to try to get Warren to be his henchman. Warren refuses and they all have to fight Warren’s dad.
literally one of my favorite romance tropes of all time is character a is a really notorious gang leader/well known feared ruler of some kind etc and no one dares cross them or talk back to them etc because they won’t make it out alive but character b can literally get away with saying whatever they want and everyone knows it’s because they have character a wrapped around their finger and character a is gentle with character b and everyone wouldn’t dare laying a finger on character b because then character a would literally chop their head off
bonus points if character b is just as ruthless and powerful as character a
