I was shocked when my husband raised £1340 by running the Belfast marathon for our grandson's SEN school and all we got from Justgiving was £1257, £83 taken by this profiteering company. We will go ba... See more

I have just spent the last 4 hours trying to post on your page. I have typed and retyped 6 times my story with nothing going through. It just says there has been an error. The whole story I spent an hour typing out is not available and I have to start all over again. I am going back to pen and paper and asking for sponsors direct. You really need to take a look at your website and make it more user friendly. I’m so pissed off right now.

My wife was duped into paying £7.50 to Just Giving on top of the £50 donation to McMillan charity presuming it was for them to reclaim the tax. Ok her fault but pretty sneaky and won’t be donating to any more charities through this route in future.

Very unhappy with the automated 17% tip. I'm usually very quick to spot these types of tricks but this one got past me. Only spotted it on my bank statement. Yes, you can ask for a refund but this definitely feels like sharp practice. I'll avoid Just Giving whilst they continue to do it.
Edited following JustGiving's response - Your response is misleading. At the point you are asked to enter credit card details there's no mention at all of any tip. It only appears AFTER all your details are input when you go to the review page. If you're being as open and honest as you pretend to be then the "tip" should be shown at the point of entering card details. It's clearly designed to mislead.

Disliked the default of 17% tip that sneaked in unnoticed. It's way too much and takes a good deal of good will out of the donation.
Make it 10% max without any user intervention. If you want me to give more, you ask. Nice big mandatory button,
"press if you agree to donate £xx"
If it currently feels like a swindle, then it probably is..and it feels like a swindle.

I arranged a HUGE party for my 80th Birthday. I did NOT want any presents, at my age I'm clearing out, not collecting so to raise money for LOROS was a no brainer.
My lovely friends and family raised over £1000 ❤️
I've already paid for a no frills dispersal so I decided I'd have my funeral party AND BE THERE.
I'll have another in 5 years xx
See you there.

Tip for just giving taken out Overall a good site to use for…
Overall a good site to use for sponsorship but feel very let down on the donation side. Wasn’t clear a “tip” was going to be taken ( even went back to donate another amount to be sure I didn’t miss anything ). Only see gift aid. This I feel isn’t made clear and only when googling it did I see I could request money back. This is so small on your receipt I missed it the first time. It’s still going to take 5-10 days for this to be returned

Just Taking
Updated 22.1.26
Just Taking! Trying to get money our of this non customer friendly bunch of charlatans. Difficult to get hold of, impossible to speak with, taking advantage of good causes and almost impossible to release one's funds! Shocking at every juncture!
I have no idea how to reply to the Just Taking reply but I have a line of contact with you via email although you reply when it takes your fancy.

Overall a good website but hidden charges
Overall a good website and very useful, however their (IMO) deceptive adding of a donation to them of 17% of your donation (added quietly on the last payment page) is not honest. I donated GBP40 and got charged GBP48.60. They took 8.60!
Gemini on their latest annual financials:
The Profit Margin: For every £1.00 JustGiving takes in revenue, roughly 52p is pure profit. Financial experts have called this "astonishing" for a business that essentially provides repeatable software.
The Dividend: The £25.8 million dividend paid in 2024 (down slightly from £31m in 2023) means that almost all of their profit is being moved out of the UK entity and into the hands of their American owners, Blackbaud Inc.
The Tip Impact: Since they introduced the "voluntary tip" model, their annual profits shot up from roughly £4.4 million (in 2018) to the £31 million seen today.

Disingenuous Justgiving …lining shareholder pockets…
Disingenuous reply about charging structure. I got a £8.50 charge on a £50 donation. I was also charged £1 for paying through PayPal. When questioned Justgiving replied the “tips” are a contribution to admin costs. When pressed Justgiving admitted it takes 1.9% plus 30p as a processing fee from every GBP contribution anyway. In 2024 the company reported revenue of £64.5m and a pre-tax profit of £35.2m, up from £31.1m in 2023, with a significant £25.8m dividend paid to its U.S. owner, Blackbaud. Go figure.
I was able to request a refund of my £8.50 but not the additional £1 charge from PayPal

Very easy and secure.
It’s one of the best for raising funds within UK. Some of my int’l friends also wanted to donated on charity that i was doing but for some reason it didn’t came through don’t know whether it is there bank or justgiving system. It will be better if this issue can be resolved.

I wish I could leave 0 stars
I wish I could leave 0 stars. I am so upset and frustrated with the customer service and serious lack of communication. We raised money for a friend back in November and submitted bank details to be told we needed to send further documentation. We have done this and was told they would be in touch in 5 days however keep getting messages to threaten all our money will be returned back to the donators if we don’t submit the documents. We’ve now submitted documents 8 times and left multiple forms online, every time saying our donations are being held to then receive another threatening email the next day to say 8 days left till we refund all the money. Not a single bit of contact from just giving other than we’ll pass your details on. I’ve been trying every day for the last 3 weeks to get hold of someone. Utterly disgusting and honestly so infuriating. Tired to do a nice thing for a friend and have been left in tears now not being able to get this money to her. Shocking - avoid at all costs
