It just looks so irregular and odd. Just really blotchy so it doesn't really look like the pattern on the gene. Not really a fan. I do think it should be redone to look more like the gene and be consistent. It's honestly drastically different. Spinner is supposed to have a gradient leading up to the pattern on the edge of the wing. For some reason sandsurge has 90% distorted pattern. It also has solid color on the outside, without any gradient leading up to it because the pattern is so large, you can't see it.

Some may not agree it should be changed, but it just doesn't look like spinner right now.

imo it looks incredibly rushed and messy. like a layout sketch instead of the finished product,,,, but alas. it do be a choice.

Honestly I was surprised to see so many people hate it. I thought it was a really unique variation of the gene, I really enjoy the look. It really gives fancy patterned lizard sail more than the alternative to me.

I like it, I like that the way it looks is unique to surges. I am also generally more fond of unique artistic choices over breed-to-breed consistency.
But to each their own, I understand if this variation of the gene does not appeal to everyone.

I like it, but I don't think it was just "rushed", it seems to me too that the spikes on sandies are just too thin and sharp to make spinner look like on the other breeds so it's better this way than having it minuscule around their sharp thin spikes.

I honestly really like it. I think it's definitely quite different from FR's usual style of genes, because this one reads to me like something I could see an actual wild animal having, with all of its wonkiness and stuff. It's neat!

I do feel like the blank space on the fins looks a bit odd, although honestly I'm not sure how it would be fixed; making it the solid colour of spinner wouldn't be good, and liked others have said, cramming spinner into those tiny areas doesn't seem a great idea either. And of course, the headfins do seem to go for the old approach, which looks odd and should be fixed imo.

(I was just about to buy some copies of spinner before realising it can be changed.. I will hold off my excitement for now).

I really like it. It is different from the other breeds but it's for the better, I never liked how it usually looks.

The way it doesn't follow any outlines looks kinda odd and makes it look inorganic.

They could at least have made it more curvy, with sharp edges to follow the spines.

skink/spinner are genes that I like. but I hate it on fathoms, it is so tiny? it makes me uncomfortable (being silly, not for real uncomfortable) in some way with the way pattern is

spinner on sandurges? nah. sorry but it looks rushed, it lacks form. it doesn't look like spinner to me. flair looks like flair in shapes regardless of gradients, but this looks odd and stands out with shapes? I am not too into genes changing their shapes randomly on newier breeds. to me this is what consistency is about and I think it should be changed
