Gunner - Slippery - Rat-a-Tat

Vyper is a slithery Hero in Deadlock, moving quickly along the battlefield and engaging critical targets. She can Slither and slide to avoid enemy attacks with greater mobility, throwing slowing Screwjab Daggers and injecting her targets with Lethal Venom. By slinging her Petrifying Bolas, Vyper Slows and Damages groups while petrifying her hapless victim.

Vyper is an impulsive outlaw that gets thrown in jail as many times as she escapes it, building a reputation among a number of criminal allies and enemies across the New Jersey Tri-State Area.

Vyper was added to Hero Labs as "Viper" on October 24, 2024, and officially released on January 17, 2025.

When it comes to breaking the law, not getting caught is a pretty important part of the job. Vyper never got that memo. Luckily for her, if there’s one thing she’s better at than being arrested, it’s escaping out of jail.

Having done time in every major prison in the tri-state area, Vyper has built an impressive network of street level lowlifes that owe her one. She’s also built an impressive network of street level lowlifes that want her dead, but she tries to focus on the positive.

Vyper's wish seems to be a new and secure life for herself.

Vyper calls herself a "Gorgon". She often refers to herself as "V".

Vyper has been to New Jersey, Staten Island, Philadelphia, Illinois, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

Vyper used to work for the Mendoza Syndicate, acting as Infernus' replacement. When working for Mendoza, Vyper was caught by Ivy and tried for 13 counts of murder, although Vyper mentions that the actual kill count was way higher. Vyper has killed tourists in the past and felt no remorse for doing so.

Vyper has been kicked out of the Paradox Museum and the Baroness Hotel. She's also been barred from Jezebel's. Vyper once crashed Fashion Week.

Vyper makes references to pruno, an improvised alcoholic beverage also known as "prison wine". It's implied that Vyper uses her own venom to make it.

Vyper says her mother was "slinging poison" after she found out about a life insurance policy, implying that she murdered her spouse for the insurance. Similarly, Vyper wants to get married to a rich husband and kill him for the inheritance.

Vyper has a Midwest accent, according to Mina.

• Vyper is infatuated with Lash. She has watched him sleep (without his knowledge) and sends Lash letters made to "stand out" (the contents of the letters are unknown, but they do make Lash uncomfortable). When Vyper flirts with Billy, she asks if she can call him "Lash".

• Aside from Lash, Vyper is attracted to Abrams, Billy and Mirage. She also likes Cinnamon, a "librarian" from "Pole Palace" who resembles Paige.

• Vyper's current appearance is a modified version of Neon Prime's Kali.
• Vyper's lead developer is Hopoo, best known as the co-creator of the Risk of Rain series.
• Before the 2025-10-02 Update, Vyper was the only hero who started with an unlocked ability by default (Slither).
• According to her voice actress Stephanie Kerbis, Vyper is "not from Wisconsin or New Jersey".
