“Initiator - High Flying - Arrogant
Lash is a Hero in Deadlock. He is a brutal bruiser of a Hero, eagerly initiating fights and chasing down fleeing opponents. He leaps into combat with his Grappling hook, Flogging his foes with a life-stealing whip and stomping the ground with a Ground Strike that damages multiple targets. If the enemy team groups up, Lash can pick them all up at once and Death Slam them into the ground.
A champion of an underground fighting arena, Lash has built a reputation as a tough and unsavoury character.

Lash's wish and motives in the ritual are currently unknown. He does, however, know exactly what he wants from the Patrons.[2]
Lash is a champion of the Bear Pit, an underground arena of blood sport where spectators gamble on matches.[3][4]
Lash refers to himself as "The Lash".[5][6] He also calls himself "The God of Combat" and "God's gift to Combat". [7][8]
Lash donates 3% of his earnings to his charity called "Lash-Back", dedicated to children "that kind of suck".[9]
Lash likes to drink Mimosas.[10] He has an open tab at Jezebel's.[11]
Lash is implied to be a sailor, due to the equipment on his model, his anchor tattoos, Death Slam's ship horn sound effects, and other characters referring to him as a "stevedore".[12][13][14] Instead of a traditional nautical sailor, Lash is more likely an airship worker (in Deadlock, airships powered by zephyrs were used instead of airplanes),[15] based on Lash's ability kit encouraging air mobility and Lash's old model having zephyr tattoos.[16]

- Lash and
Bebop have a rivalry fueled by hate for each other.[17][18][19] Lash used to use an uppercut instead of Ground Strike, but refused to use it ever again after seeing Bebop use an uppercut.[20][21] Bebop has beaten Lash in the Bear Pit once,[22] and Lash has beaten Bebop at least once afterwards.[23][24] Neither Bebop nor Lash elaborate on why they hate the other so much.[25][26] - Lash mocks
Wraith for betting on

- In Neon Prime, Lash owned a dojo. He taunted Kali, a former Bear Pit competitor, for coming out of retirement only to go back to a 2 decade hiatus after losing to Bebop.[78] Lash also used to date the character Ballista, and wanted to get them back after a break-up.[79][80]
- The Shopkeeper calls Lash "the poster boy for the Celtics".[81] The Boston Celtics have a historic rivalry with the New York Knicks, which is referenced in other voice lines.[82][83]
- During to the 2025 Winter Event, Shopkeeper has the phrase "Lash. Even a Celtics fan deserves to have a happy holiday".
- Lash's name was localized in the Brazilian Portuguese translation as Chico T., a pun on the word "chicote" (whip).
- The description for Deadlock in Steam Replay 2024 is "Jacob Lash is an asshole."
