Great support
Great support, very helpful and took the time to walk through all the features of their app.
Very useful tool!
Extremely useful session
Extremely useful session, good pace, well structured, friendly host, and I was given opportunity to ask questions where needed. The session finished with methods I can use to get extra support in the future. Thank you.
Beware Fraud
Beware Fraud! Do not use this!
I have used it to send a few invoices but they massively increased the price, there is no way to end the subscription thorough the app or web browser, only a phone no, they would not allow me to cancel they passed me around different people each asking me for more and more personal details, to "verify my account" ive had to contact my bank to make sure they cant take any more money off me, never had anything like this happen I wonder what they are doing with the details they have had off me.
I recently completed an onboarding call…
I recently completed an onboarding call with John Michael, who was incredibly helpful. Having used QuickBooks Self-Employed for many years, I was delighted that most of my existing data could be seamlessly transferred during the upgrade.
John Michael guided me through QuickBooks Sole Trader. I had explored some features prior to our appointment, allowing me to ask informed questions.
He pointed out where to locate various functions, tailored the settings to suit my business needs, and shared tips to simplify processes for the future.
John Michael excelled in addressing all my inquiries.
Thank you, John Michael!

Have scheduled two online meetings to…
Have scheduled two online meetings to discuss setting up a new account for two companies. The first was to be a phone call. No one called. I received a call a couple of weeks later requesting an online meeting and was told the original contact was on leave. Setup a new teams meeting with the new contact. Got a reminder an hour before the meeting. Logged into the teams meeting and the contact never showed up. As this was a sales call, hate to think what the support would have been like. Will now spend time looking for a new solution.
Great service as usual
BEWARE
BEWARE - IS THIS FRAUD? - Intuit will continue to take your money even after you've cancelled your subscription. When I contact them, the chap on the phone, who incedently sounded like he was in bed under the covers, couldn't give a reasonable explanation. Basically told me, when their system realises the account should have been cancelled the payment will bounce back via the bank, i just need to wait. They initiated taking the payment (a random figure £103) before the next would have been due, if I hadn't cancelled over a month prior. How can you trust an accounting package from an organisation that doesn't even know when or why they are taking payments or when or if you will get your money back?
Beware; cheap offers may mean cut-down software (not disclosed).
After accepting a ridiculously cheap offer during Black Friday week, I loaded two years of bank transactions and started using the product only to discover (not evident from the marketing material) that I could not amend the chart of accounts. I upgraded (also on a good deal) and then my problems began. Quickbooks had posted income and expenses randomly to "equity accounts" with postings it seemed I could not change. After my 45 minute on-boarding assist, I was passed to "an accountant" (hooray!) who was also unable to assist and thought my problems were due to the upgrade. He suggested purging the system and starting again! After 3 weeks of gruelling effort I have finally got my accounts sorted out. But for my investment in this product (Quickbooks online) I would be looking elsewhere. The marketing did not describe the products in detail so comparisons of different levels were not helpful and customer support was friendly but useless. Maybe I will come to love it - who knows!
As for the product itself (Quickbooks online), it is OK but has strange features - why can you review a balance sheet account from the trail balance but only run a "report" for P&L items. why cant it just do debits and credits instead of changing descriptions depending on the part of the system you are in? I have not found any bulk change options yet so correcting Quickbooks errors was slow and tedious. But at least it supports open banking which was the main feature I was after (unfortunately not all UK financial institutions do - so check first if this is important).
Finally, in case this is relevant, while the systems (all systems) available in the UK appear to be aimed at sole traders, I would like to keep my personal accounts online and take advantage of open banking etc... I don't need to invoice, to hold inventory or make VAT returns. Why are none of the companies (Sage, Intuit, Xero etc..) not able to provide a product at a reasonable price?
Great Helpline
Nigel was so helpful and polite. He quickly worked out my level of knowledge and engaged in a non-patronising and very patient manner and although my issue wasn't resolvable (bank issue not quickbooks issue), he helped me with a work around solution. Thank you.
If you are only looking, get ready to be annoyed by a constant link in your inbox
Only looked to see if they had a free package for a small golf society.
Not sure whether I put in my e-mail or not, but whatever, since looking 7 days ago, there has been a constant link in my Outlook Inbox.
In other words, an e-mail that doesn't allow you to open it and unsubscribe. It just opens to their website.
Everytime you try deleting it, a new one reappears within a second (or is it the same one but with a new time).
The page you have been taken to also doesn't have an unsubscribe link. When you have had to scroll down to bottom of page (a long way down) and read the small print, you have to Subscribe with an e-mail address, to then apparently log-in and mark your preferences as unsubscribe.
So they have harvested my e-mail address
IS THIS EVEN LEGAL?
Price hiked by 150% in a single year
I am beyond frustrated with Intuit QuickBooks UK's pricing strategy. Over the last 12 months, my subscription fee has become a joke.
In January 2025, I was paying £20.76. By mid-year, it jumped to £31.56, then to £39.96. Today, they charged me £51.60. That is a 150% increase in one year! The software hasn't improved twofold, and no new features justify this kind of price gouging. It feels like they are holding my business data hostage while hiking prices as they please. If you value financial predictability for your business, stay away from QuickBooks. I am now looking for alternatives like Xero or Sage.
UPDATE: Support is a total joke - they don't care about customers. I tried to resolve the unfair price hike via their support chat, and it was a disaster. The agent (Kayce) refused to provide any assistance and insisted that I must call their "Retention Team" via phone.
I explicitly stated at least 4 times that I do not have access to a phone and requested to be contacted via email. The agent completely ignored my accessibility needs, claimed they "don't have email support for this," and abruptly ended the chat with a generic "Take care always."
QuickBooks not only hikes your prices by 150% in a year but also builds a wall of "phone-only" support to make it impossible for you to complain or negotiate. They treat loyal customers like cash cows and offer zero accessibility.
My guide was patient
My guide was patient, friendly and well informed. She responded to my queries and met me where I was at.
Excellent support …
I had my set up tutorial call following opening a new account
The tutorial was clear helpful and personalised one to one and all part of the subscription fee
Problem solved.
bad service, software not fit for purpose
paid for subscription for 4 months they could not connect my bank account, they blamed the banks. banks said all works, so I cancelled, but they continued to charge me regardless. they contacted me said it was all resolved, so I joined subscription again. 5 months trying but unable to connect banks, only partially, the CVS system was also unable to show all transactions and some where incorrect dates. after 50 emails, they keep saying our team have resolved the issue, case closed. but it never work, it never connected my bank accounts. now I cancelled subscription 4 months ago, but they wont unsubscribe me, I keep trying to unsubscribe but they are keeping it active, I expect soon they will try and charge me a new subscription fee, even though I cancelled 4 moths ago,. its a lot of my time lost playing there games, just to get 1 more subscription out of me. but worse is there unwillingness to help me connect my bank accounts. QB ways of business have caused me much stress and loss of business

Slower and slower. It is now getting unusable
As QB have increased their user numbers with aggressive pricing campaigns, the performance of their online system has slowed...and slowed...and slowed.
It has got to the point that a week before and a week after the calendar month end, the system is unusable in normal office hours.
Seriously considering abandoning them and moving to a better system.
clear patient instructions
clear patient instructions from Jeah made this a good experience
